Alright guys,
Don't flame me out here, but.... I am very interested in doing a 6-71 setup on my 07 3valve. So far I can't find anything on it for our cars except that I'll need some stand alone fuel management. I have seen some newer Hemi cars on you tube and I LOVE the look of that oldschool blower sticking out of the hood!!! So, have any of you seen, heard or read about this type of setup. And yes I used the search function to no avail.
Thanks all,
Jason

If you have sums of money then yes it can be done.

it looks awkward, it just doesnt belong on these cars lol

Meh, I believe with the right hood and front end setup this can work well visually. Plus it looks like it will rip your face off! to be honest it will be after I destroy this engine so probably a long ways out. I am a ground up guy, so supporting mods will be there before anything this radical. I.e. tranny suspension drive shaft etc... Not to mention a built iron block and bottom as well. I mainly wanted to know if this had been done to a 4.6L 3v car yet, and if so get some details on the ecu management and other specifics...

It has been done.

I hope you have deep pocketbooks.

I would start with something like a Department of Boost intake manifold or a Roush TVS manifold (2 to three grand) then consult a local machine shop to build you an adapter plate to convert from the Shelby GT500/RoushTVS/GT500 Whipple/KenneBell mount that is on top of both of those intake manifolds to the 6-71 blower base.

You will also need to fabricate and / or have machined the drive system....and you'll need cogged belt pullies added to all your current accessories.

Obviously this will all have to go onto a forged engine to handle the power.

You'll need to cut your hood, but that will be minor in a project like this.

I think you can use the car's current computer and fuel injection, but you will lose the mass airflow sensor and have to switch to another method. Someone much smarter than I am can tell you how to do that. I know their is a way to use a MAP sensor, but I don't know if it will integrate with our car's computer.

Many people talk about this but very few execute.

Fastlane Motorsports could do it for you...but it will cost you dearly!

Thanks Di, I was going down that path mentally and it seems it would be purely for something different as there is more power to be had with more modern power adders.. and no way for Fastlane, Boise is a long way from N.C.

I lived in Boise from 1996-2000. Small world.

Cool, I actually live in Meridian. Work for Meridian Fire Dept. You wouldn't believe how much this place has grown.. just mind blowing. Not a vacant square foot on eagle road from I-84 to State Street wall to wall stores restaurants etc... just nuts. Are you prior service??? I was in Georgia 95-96, Basic, AIT, Airborne and RIP. Yep, Small world :)

Maybe I'll just do a "Shaker" with the bug catcher top and F with people lol!!!

I actually like the idea. I grew up when ProStreet modified cars were big. I am not going to go that far but one day will have an old school Hilborne scoop sticking up out of my hood. It will be a fully functional "real" cold air intake. Having custom fabrication done for something like this costs a pretty penny that I would like to spend elswhere right now, but one day, one day...

I was flying for Horizon Air back then. Fokker F28-4000 "Jurassic Jet" daily service to Spokane, Portland and Seattle.

I miss "The Wave", Tablerock, The Beanery, Lucky 13, and Flying Pie. Good eats there!

Looks cool but, in the end you will be overspending purely for looks to under receive in performance.

But, if you've got hella cash to burn and you really want it, someone can do it for you.

Unless you are going to do most of the work or have some good friends, I'm going to estimate north of $20K for this.
