Just joined and first post. I have 2006 gt ,stock motor with powerhouse turbo putting 430 to the wheels with 8 lbs boost. Car has 100,000 miles on it and daily driver and put about 2000 mi a month. Plan is to build a motor before stock one goes out. Figure bound to happen, plus I want to crank up the boost and not have to worry about internals. Want something that'll take the abuse and not cost a arm and leg. I can do a 4.6 with forged internals or even stroke it. But I figure would be about same price to built a 5.4 or 4.6. Not sure but think as long as stay 3v can use almost everything I got, except intake manifold so expenses to install about same too. All 5.4 3v intakes look like need to be custom made $. The info I been reading about stock intake for 5.4 3v would either be for truck or van and would leave a lot power on table. Also in Australia got a few cars with that engine and looks like the intake is metal. Not sure how good they flow ,if can be ported or even how to get one. I no this swap had to be done already. I seen a lot swaps from 6 cylinder to 5.4 but not 4.6 to 5.4. Any info would be appreciated. Want to start on new engine soon ,but still don't no which way I'm going. Would power gain be even worth the extra work. I think it ranks way up in the cool factor, but want more outta it than just being able to say I got a 5.4. THANKS

To my knowledge ALL mod motors were built with sintered oil pump gears. The billet steel pieces are strictly aftermarket.
Having installed mine, I will say they are a HEFTY piece compared to the factory ones, and that's the 03 Cobra pump.

Thought if changed number of valves, would have to swap computers or at very least would be buncha changes in wiring. Not even sure about computer, might b just different tune?

Always can go to bottle, connection already there when hooked up sensor for fuel pressure. Seen place by the house fills 5 lbs bottles up for like 20$, but not really wanting to go that way.

There's not many big differences from 3V to 4V. You'd need to swap coil polarity (literally just pop the pins out the connector and switch them around), you'd need to disable VVT in the tune, and you'd just have to make sure to use an intake manifold compatible with the 3V throttle body.
Be careful of that speed bug. I started out wanting a PD blower that would put me in the 400s. Then it became chasing 550. Now I'm stuffing twin 66s under the hood and shooting for 4 digits on race gas.

I thought was whole lot more than that to swappin 4v, not that I no a lot anyway. And know how u feel snake. Got turbo to get close to 500 on block, said dam its fast. Few months later thinkin am using less than half the boost it can put out, and thinkin its not that fast let me build a motor

hope I don't go that far. but already thinkin now about buyin an older mid size ranger beater to drive around while workin on car and when done can put some of leftovers into beater. I AM WAAAY AHEAD OF MYSELF

WAAAHHOOO Wife just gave green flag on bringin parts to paint shop tomorrow. I got a killer deal on the turbo I got, and with it I got set of cervani rear window scoops and the lower ones also. But were wrong color, figured while getting them painted my hood scoop got acid or something on it at work where it needs repainting. Gonna take off my side mirrors too and have them painted also. Before putting hood scoop back on planning on cutting hole in hood so it can serve a purpose.

The kicker is she don't even no I put a turbo on my car yet. THATS A WHOLE OTHER STORY HOW I PULLED THAT OFF. Had to put black elec tape over my gauges one night when she insisted on us using my car one night. Flashing light woulda definitely threw up a flag

She wanted me to call the cops on shop that had my car. told her was in for an oil change and tweek my tune, but they fried my computer and that's why it was taking longer

Put my scoops on and 1 flew off already while I was runnin a bike. Was lucky as hell to find it but did soooo back to paint
