Just joined and first post. I have 2006 gt ,stock motor with powerhouse turbo putting 430 to the wheels with 8 lbs boost. Car has 100,000 miles on it and daily driver and put about 2000 mi a month. Plan is to build a motor before stock one goes out. Figure bound to happen, plus I want to crank up the boost and not have to worry about internals. Want something that'll take the abuse and not cost a arm and leg. I can do a 4.6 with forged internals or even stroke it. But I figure would be about same price to built a 5.4 or 4.6. Not sure but think as long as stay 3v can use almost everything I got, except intake manifold so expenses to install about same too. All 5.4 3v intakes look like need to be custom made $. The info I been reading about stock intake for 5.4 3v would either be for truck or van and would leave a lot power on table. Also in Australia got a few cars with that engine and looks like the intake is metal. Not sure how good they flow ,if can be ported or even how to get one. I no this swap had to be done already. I seen a lot swaps from 6 cylinder to 5.4 but not 4.6 to 5.4. Any info would be appreciated. Want to start on new engine soon ,but still don't no which way I'm going. Would power gain be even worth the extra work. I think it ranks way up in the cool factor, but want more outta it than just being able to say I got a 5.4. THANKS
