So I'm brand new here. lol

After I graduated Highschool here in winnipeg, I figured I owed myself somthing nice to drive, being tired of my bunkass alero. I started searching auto trader and almost every car site trying to find myself the perfect car. I was looking at some 80 somthing cameros and a few mustangs here and there with no luck.

Then about september, I seen this mustang and I knew i needed to buy it. So I did. lol Told my parents as a graduation present they could borrow me the money for it and I'd pay them back 1000 a month untill I paid it off. Why lose money to the bank right?

ANYWAY, at first I thought it was just an overly sexy GT with a few addons, but it seems the more I seach it up the more amazing it gets. I bought a 2005 Mustang GT350-R.

I thought it was a 4.6L, but apparently its a 4.6 with flanged pistons so it technically a 5.0. Really, I have no clue about anything on the car except its toooo fast. Anyone on these forums have ANY clue about these cars. I've been told many many things by a few friends and I really have NO clue at all if any of it is true.

k, for everyone being an asshole already.
1. My parents did NOT LOAN money from the bank
2. I always wanted a mustang, I just happened to buy one after school so I could actually afford it
3. This car DOES have air intake/throttle/exhaust upgrades that I know of for sure
4. I could care less about my grammer
5. ONCE AGAIN, I JOINED this site to learn about my car. Not say how great it is
In spring when I bring it out again I'm gonna take it to ford and see what they have to say. I am sure its a 350, but if I'm wrong I'm wrong.

This really means nothing but give it a look

I believe that is just a sticker that has been put on the car, it has no performance upgrades. I may be wrong but I am pretty sure someone asked this a while back and we found out it was just a sticker kit...

You owed yourself something nice after high school? Really? Did you graduate because your grammar is worse than the 9th and 10th graders I teach.

Also, I don't believe you will find any "flanged" pistons that will take it from a 4.6 to a 5.0. What you have is a normal gt that they put those stickers on. Its not the HP rating, its nothing to do with the pistons, its just a GT. .... Congrats on a new car though, it is a nice ride.

nice mustang, but like the others have said im almost 100% sure thats just a GT with some stickers, I never really thought graduating high school was worthy enough of getting a new car, maybe... maybe college. Oh well either way nice car but wrong section

I think he was trying to say his parents LOANED him the money, and he said they borrowed him the money, but not sure. Either way I can see how this is going to go, the kid is going to get mad that we are telling him that the car is just a stock GT and he will probably never post again, and he will run around and tell all his buddies that he researched it on the net and its some super rare gt67 and has 800 HP with a power 24/7 fukker transmission and 3/4 race cams, and super fast cause of the flanged pistons.... :lmao Anyone else think this could be WhiteFangs relative/friend?

Yeah I am guessing you are right, because I live in Mexico and its common for a mexican speaking english to say borrow me something, instead of loan me. In spanish, and probably in french borrow and loan are the same word. I just didn't know if Manitoba was french speaking.

when i graduated i got an 88 GT. bought it from CJ Pony Parts (ill never do that again) and drove up there to pick it up. $3500. not a new car but the car i thought i wanted. GT350r isnt anything special.... a shelby GT would have cooler.

I don't care if you're gifted a car...****, my ex was given a brand new 2005 Porsche 911 Turbo back in the day for her 16th birthday, but when people have an attitude of feeling entitled to something, especially something like a nice car, that reeeeaaally just rubs me the wrong way. I appreciate the OP is paying his parents back, but the "I deserved something nice" comment just really sat wrong. You deserve something nice when you come home from War or honorable discharge from the military, when you graduate from College or Grad School, when you get married, or when you go into retirement. When you graduate high school you deserve at least one parent to help you pay for college and pat you on the back to keep your spirits up when you realize how tough the real world is, and thats about it. Again, solely my opinion here. Sorry if I came off rude, but OP, I don't appreciate your flamer comment.

and it's a nice lookin' S197 bud, but it's not a GT350R. I'd take the sticker off IMO. Let's see some more pics!

I agree with JakeM and Jakashh...
I mean for goodness sake, he was asking an honest question, that's part of the reason i don't always want to post cuz somone will come up with some smart ass comment that isn't needed at all.

And btw im pretty sure switzerland has 4 official languages, or at least they speak 4. German, Swiss-German, French, and an old language that they don't use much anymore :) just my 2 cents!

This **** drives me crazy on this forum and its always the same people. If someone asks a question either answer the question or leave the thread. 90% of the time you are telling them to save more money or bashing them. Guess what? They have a grand to spend give them advise on there budget or GTFO. Give the kid a break

I think like others have said its a differently badged GT, possibly a tribute car to the 65-66 GT350R which Ford manufactured to be eligible to race in SCCA competitions. Maybe someone meant forged pistons when they told you flanged. Nice car though and try to ignore the grammar/moral trolls, there's lots of good information to be had here.

What you said, so true on this site. And yes, always the same people. It does keep me coming back though when someone explodes and it turns into a flame fest, it's pretty funny. This kid just wants some information, not too much to ask for, and how anyone could have interpreted what he said as him feeling entitled is beyond me.
