Advancing Timing With SCT Tuner

So i got this handy dandy 93 octane tune on my sct tuner. It is great and all but i cant help but wonder if there could be more like a 95/97/99 octane tunes. What i am getting at is.... I have access to high octane fuel for my car and i got this sct tuner and basically i want to know if the timing is maxed out at 93 or could i run more. I noticed in the tune it does not give me an option to advance the timing it just lets me retard it like -1,-2,-3 and so on. And if it is possible to get more advanced timing are there any gains passed what i already have. Again detonation wont be a problem because i have potential access to meth and higher octane.

Give me some feedback!

I found the same thing, I was assuming SCT wouldn't let you advance the timing or lean the a/f yourself for liability purposes. My tunes have all been overly rich (11 a/f) even after Bama's revisions, so I'm going to have to go to a dyno to get it fixed.

any1 know of a way to unlock further adjustments, or do you think the adjustabilty is built into the tune, and without a unlocked tune it would be impossible to do it yourself?

Your tuner can set it up to add or subtract lot of things.
OR you can buy the PRP and set it up how ever you want.
Here is what the prp looks like to program options.

Ok so assuming i can get the tuner to set up adjustabilty on this tune, if i could advance the timing would i also have to increase the fuel and air ratios aswell or the timing is all that would need to be adjusted for more hp

the only thing your tuner needs to know is how much total timing you want and what the stoich of the fuel is.

One thing I am going to say though is on a fairly stock car you're not going to see huge gains by cranking the timing to the moon.

what about full bolts on's vehicle anything for that or am i wasting my time? Fuel wont be a problem we got the 100 and something shell race stuff here and i can blend gas for even higher octane.

If you don’t know then I’d highly suggest not messing with the timing. Let a pro do it.
