Theres a guy here local selling his complete tork tek kit, blower, pulleys, maf, injectors, blower, intercooler...everything. 2300 bucks. im thinking about buying it. i've been wanting to go FI and im not sure what way im going to go. i've been talking with Scott alot about going the turbo route. would love it.

But my question is, if i were to buy the tork tek kit, couldnt i then buy say a whipple or kb that is ment for the 03/04 4v heads and use it? or is this kit ONLY for the stock eaton?

because if i cant upgrade the blower to something more effiecent then i'll just go with a blower ment for my car. whether its a turbo or blower im not sure.

I've been looking around, and noticed that alot of the "upgraded superchargers" are twin screw...eaton is a roots if im not mistaken. and typically when you buy a KB or whipple it comes with the lower intake. i think they come with the lower for that reason.

But hopefully one of you guys can shed some light on this subject.

If your getting the kit that can use and 03 / 04 Cobra Eaton then you can use any Whipple or KB ment for the Cobra on your 2V... What makes Tork Tek so great is the fact that if you ever decide to upgrade from a 4.6 2V to a 5.4 2V you dont need to toss your kit to buy another blower!

Chek out this 5.4 swapped stang with a Tork Tek kit:cool:

$2300?? Damn Id so do that man. Thats a good deal. You can easily get 450rwhp out of it.

And you could do a Kenne Bell swap as well. Whipple? Probally

If you get the tork tech you should be able to use 4v blowers... but dude, for 2300 you can piece together a better centri setup. I've got mine ballparked to about 2300 for everything, and that's with a big loud ass BOV and all the stuff I want.

So 2300 +5k for a whipple or KB - 400 if you sell the heaton.... Not that good of a deal...

Tork tech sells a blower that can make 700 hp check their website
Not sure what this has to do with the OP's question. But ok lol

Regardless, that sounds like a great deal. I would pounce on it. The roots style blower is aledgedly not as efficient as a twin screw, but boost is boost. I would peg that just under 400hp on a stock GT.

Just put your man pants on and buy it... hehe

you been talking about going turbo with somebody that doesnt have a turbo? lol

i was going to go with the tork tech kit after i reach my record with the turbo kit..we where going to go with a 2.3 whipple..no need to do a 3.4 thats just to big really on a 2v(they really dont even make great numbers on lightnings) and was going to see the max power i could get out of if with a built motor and everything which we figure would probably be really close to the 750rwhp range..but i guess i just have to see how the turbo thing plan out.. really wanted to do the tork tech thing just to say i have a 2.3 whipple under the hood would be bad ass and still mak eenough power..

and for that price he is selling it i would buy it in a heartbeat..or see if you can get it even cheaper without the blower and throw a whipple on it from the start

dude i would jump on that. i'm planning on doing a tork tech intercooled manifold with a whipple 2.3L blower on top. any cobra blower will work with the manifold, you just might need a bigger hood. and with the power you're making already you're going to have to start looking at forged internals too.

my overall plan is an aluminum block (teksid or WAP), forged goodies, stock heads and cams, tork tech+ a whipple, and 500-550rwhp on 15 psi. does it come with the heat exchanger and everything?

$5k at kenne bell would get him the entire kit. Intercooler to fuel system. He wouldn't even use anything off the torque tech. The blower alone is much cheaper

IMO its a good deal.

He has a cobra R hood, so I think he would be alright on that front.

Alright then, what would just the blower cost out of the KB kit? 1500? 2k?

So take my equation and replace the 5k with 2k

So 2300 +2k for a whipple or KB - 400 if you sell the heaton.

You could find a used KB kit for less than that. Of course, if his plan is to get a big 4v blower, sure, but it seems to me that equal power can be made for cheaper.

I've got forged internals already...fully built 5.0L stroker. And everyone is right, for around the same price i could get a centri blower. but i want a roots or twin screw. i want it to mount up top and just look sick when i pop the hood! Plus i've got the 2k cobra r hood, so i think i've got the clearance.

Yea, i've been talking with scott, because he's peicing a kit together as well, also he's a vendor for precision turbo (what i've heard) So i've been talking prices with him.

But then i saw this kit and now im kinda excited!

You know a guy that can get good deals on turbos stuff? I am looking for a decent BOV with a good sound that isn't going to break my bank. Also I need an external wastegate 50 mm or bigger that wont be too much but is pretty solid. Manual boost controler too.

Let me know if you got the hook anywhere!

I agree, you can piece a centri kit together for the same price, however I personally love the PD blowers. You've got a good deal right there

Remember its not always about cost as it is doing what YOU want

sounds like a good price to me. and you could either port the eaton, or drop a kb or whipple on it. nothing changes with the lower on the 03-04's. the only issue i could think of would be clearance issues with the whipple and the fuel rails, but otherwise, shouldn't be an issue. and roots and twin screw really just refers to the rotors inside the charger. ;)

yeah dude worst case you sit on the kit for a while. i've been doing some premature shopping for used whipple 2.3L kits and they have sold for around $2,000-2,500 with literally like 5,000 miles on them. they make a shitload of power though so idk if your tranny/rear end/ fuel system is up to it.
