I'm guessing your dual 12" box doesn't fit in the trunk? Same here man it sucks, I have two 1200watt 12" infinity's I wanna get in there but now I need to sell my tuned box and sacrifice air space :sorry I don't think I'll ever get my subs to hit quite like they do in the current box, I have yet to be able to actually pull the subs from the box I don't want to let it go! Stupid small trunk lol.

Let me know what you end up doing, making your own box or if you find a nice ported one that fits in our trunks. I have been looking for years and have yet to find anything besides small sealed truck boxes that you would have to mount them seperatly in. I know I could just make a smaller one but going through the tuning process is a royal pain so I haven't got around to it, just like my fogs I bought last year haha.

Post whore I know but by the way if you haven't already checked I think the max height from inside the car without the back seats in is about 14" and something like 22 or higher wide. Trust me you need one 14" flat or under height wise or it will never work, as far as putting a box in from the actual trunk, forget about it. So if you end up looking for a box or having one built or doing your own, remember the 14" height limit. I doubt you will find any boxes for 12"s since the height is so close to the size of the sub, if you used anything more then 1/2" thick material you would probably be drilling into the top/bottom boards while trying to screw the subs in. Just realize that it is possible, if you do everything neat and measure right you can use 1/2 board and be fine, and make up for the lost room by making the box deep, the more cu. feet, the more bass lol. You could even use 3/4 if you wanted and just not put in the top and bottom bolts on the sub, especially if they are 8 bolt like mine..hmm I may be on to something here.

A properly designed ported enclosure will always be a lot larger than a sealed box, I think you're backwards on that one. There's just no way 2 12's ported with the proper airspace will fit in the trunk of a Mustang.

I had a pair of 10s in a properly designed ported box in my trunk for a while, and it went from side to side, 8" from the back, and barely fit under the Mach 460 enclosure.

I have my 12" hifonics 1600wrms sub in my trunk WITH the mach460 sound system. I designed the box, and my dad helped me build it. Its somewhat of a bitch, but you take out the rear seats(pretty easy) then drop the mach460 amp rack(hard by yourself, its easier if you take off the carpet covering the speakers)

now it is NOT 14 INCHES! I built a box and found this out the hard way, there is a small lump in the chassis in the trunk which restricts you to about 13.25, 13 to be safe.

So I built another box with these exterior dimensions, 12.5 tall, 30in wide, 14 in deep. I had a total port length of about.. 24 in? But I have my sub facing up, ( yes I know the disadvantages) but it works and bumps pretty good and I can still have my mach460 up there. If you need help designing a box, shoot me a pm.

Your going to have to buy individual boxes and take out the spare tire so you could slip them in like I did with my old cvxs, those hatchback style boxes are to small for a l7 or get a custom made box, oh and btw i got rid of my cvxs which are the round version of the l7s I had them hooked up to a 1000.1 bd and they are way to much for our stangs it will rattle like a motherf#$%r I currently run a 12 w3v3 in a seald box and it sounds great and clean

you guys arent thinking far enough out side the box here lol ive got two 12 insignias in a dual tuned bandpass box......can you say 300lbs of ass weight. but seriously heres what i did to get my box in.
1. take out the carpet, cardboard trim panels in the far back (to get the trunk latch off props to who ever else said that) yes un bolt it and take it out, spare tire jack and everything, remove the rubber seal from the edge of the trunk
2. take the box and tip it down into the whole where the spare tire goes and youll have to rotate it as you slide it down in to get it to drop in (it doesnt actually drop in. it more like gets beat in with a elbow but it works trust me i put the same box in my 96 (which had the mach 460) and my 2000(which doesnt)
3. once in replace everything. the tricky thing is the spare tire and all that. I jst slid the bx as tight to the seats as possible and the used a block under the front edge to tilt it up and slid the jack and tire back in together then slid the cardboard in. Then lay the carpet (i layed it rolled up front of car to back and roll it back out as far up to the box as you can pull the box to the back of the car and go inside and pick up on the back of the box and roll it the rest of the way. its crazy but it fits trust me. if you want some pics lol i could throw them up but this box is HUGE! and i crammed it in there.
hope thats helps someone

If you remove the mach 460 amp rack and **** in the back you gain quite a bit. I cut some of the excess metal under where the seat mounts and managed to get a giant ass box in there with my old auidoque. Had it in there for 3 days. Just too ****ing loud. If I can find a picture I will but I think the box was like 15x22x28. I had to kick it through but it fit
