I am going to get my tranny rebuilt this winter and i needed to know where the best place to get a rebuild kit for the 3650, is there any upgrade versions or is there just stock kits?

There are a few very strong TR-3650s out there, but why not just throw a T56 in it? Wouldn't make much of a difference on the strip, but 6 gears are great if you like to do top end pulls or a lot of highway driving.

Shifting at only 5,500 with my 3.73 gears, I only get knocked down to 4,350 RPM after grabbing 5th. 4,400 into 6th if I feel like being stoopid and really winding it out on the highway.

That's the best idea, but if someone can rebuild their tranny themselves it would only cost just less than $1000. A T-56 swap would easily run him between 2 and 3 grand. Costs quite a bit more money. I would also like to hear what people say about this because I have 1 shot synchro and 1 going out.

For $2,000 + my TR-3650 setup, I got a 26 spline T56, Cobra driveshaft, Centerforce DFX, flywheel, Steeda Tri Ax, then installed for another $150. Similar deals to that pop up rather often.

Before I bought C MY 4D's T56 setup, I was going to pick up a T56 and shortened GT driveshaft, but the guy for some reason would absolutely not pull out the transmission, when he had it up for sale. The car hit a deer and he went into the guard rail, so that was the reason for parting it out. Basically he was too lazy, and kept on trying to convince me to take the whole car. It's a shame, I got him down to $1,400.

I offered to pull it myself, then I said screw it and looked for a T56 for sale by someone who wasn't a nut job.
