2002 3.8 v6.....when i take off at a normal speed and and then i punch it while in 3rd or so, theres a rev limiter at 4000rpm....can i change that with out spending $300 for a programmer???
Can i remove REV limiter w/ out programmer?

Yes, you did ask for criticism the second you went and rebadged your car as a pathetic attempt to be a Cobra. You own a V6, be proud of what you have and deal with it or go buy a Cobra, don't pretend to be something that your not. All that your doing is making everyone else look bad.
Lawls!! This man obviously doesn't know ESG! If you have to come on here and ask us if you can change the rev limiter without a tuner than you are clearly not in a position to call out other people on their knowledge are you? Think BEFORE you speak.
I would guess its an auto, its just hitting the brick wall known as "no horsepower" ...

well and the fact that it has normal tail lights, probably no fogs with a v6/gt bumper, probably cloth seats, hood scoop, 99-03 V6 hood, etc.It has, but at least it keeps us entertained at work/class when its boring...

and if you really know what your looking for i think the cobra wipers sit a bit lower too.

ok I have somthing to ask to ad to this....why is it if in any gear but let's just say I'm at a dead stop at a red light and it turns green I "punch" it and right as I arroach 5k rpms (1st gear going into 2nd) my battery light comes on but there's not limiters as it sounds like u guys have but again it only comes on as I reach and pass 5k rpms.....ideas??
I've got a manual and I was limited to 4k in neutral and ~5250 (or so) in gear before I got my tuner.

Yeah you've def. got a rev limiter in your manual as well unless you got tuned...
Clearly this is why some people think MM is mean to new members, but if you're gonna try an attempt at a senior member like that its time to find a new hobby.

he's lucky he went after ESG who's easy going and got lucky i wasn't in the thread earlier for him to say something too..because i was gonna ask about the SVT emblems as well...because im feel frosty this week
See, I took the time to read like 30 or 40 threads before I even considered posting. So I knew that if I said something and it was wrong it would get corrected in a not so nice manner. Which I am fine with, and I know everytime someone cracks a joke at my ignorance just means I become that much smarter because then I know what the correct information is. Even when you guys take shots at people you atleast give them the correct information as far as I can tell. If the OP had just taken a second to even read the thread in visual about taillights he would have known you guys don't like people pretending their car is a model it is not lol.

My car started doing this when the alternator was on it's way out. Within a few months I was getting a battery light at 3k RPM and shortly after the battery light stayed on, the battery drained, and the car refused to start (obviously). I replaced the alternator (which turns out is horribly easy on our cars) and the battery since mine was pretty old and haven't had a single issue since. I would just recommend getting your alternator checked and keep an eye on how high your RPMs are before it comes on. I only say that second part because it sucks to have to bum a ride to get a new alternator because you didn't get one a day earlier.
So I can say anything I want and you won't kill me this week? Well then... :shiftyeyesActually...
