before you get those i would get some long tubes to make everything breathe easier

are you willing to do the extra springs required for the SPR cams???

 

I've got the SPR Stage 2 cams and from all the research I did, they are the biggest for stock heads. Stage 3 cams would benefit for strokers and/or more compression motors. The Mutha thumpers sound nastier IMO but SPRs make better power.

 

yea im willin 2 pay for the phasers and the springs too.

 

from a post in february- one guy said the SPRs made 35hp. the thumpers cant be too far behind. and wit my exhaust i need a nasty lope!( cuz it already sounds bad-azz)!

 

With the right tune, I think they can make mo dan dat.

 

You want a nasty lope??? Thumprs are the way to go and pick up a little power. You want power with a noticable lope, get the SPRs............SPRs will benifit performance more, but if you are in it for the sound, get the thumprs.

Here is my short story. A while ago (can't remember when, before thumprs came out) I wanted that nastly lope. Hot Rod cams weren't even released yet. I kept waiting and waiting for them but I got tired of it and Richard with RADmustangs had comp cut me a custom grind Thumpr style camshaft. They sound WICKED, and anyone that doesn't know better thinks they are .600+ lift..........Guess what is waiting to go in my car right now????? SPR stage 3s........why???? Because I get the nasty lope AND a good performance cam that will work to my advantage with a built motor and ported heads. Thumprs are a great cam if you don't plan on any SERIOUS performance stuff.

 

what do yall think about the FRPP hot rod cams? What do they sound like?

 

Are you going to do the the swap yourself or pay someone to do it. If your gonna pay someone to swap the springs then I would use that money on a set of heads that already have the upgraded valvetrain and flow better than stock. Then just save alil more and swap it all at once. Thats just my opinion.

 

Ima put them on myself. /im not going to spend 3k on heads unless i get sent to the desert.

 

Good luck making $3K in the desert. Only way thats possible is if you don't leave base and don't buy ****

 

believe me, when i go to the dessert, im not going to spend anything unless im ordering parts to put on when i get back. Im just gone drink water and eat bread and who knows- might be able to afford a supercharger when i get back.

 

I gotta answer for you, neither. becuase neither one will work on the stock heads.

your choices come down to spr stage II and thumpr stage II.

Lope from HP sounds different from 'pseudo-lope', or maybe it's just b/c one car is MUCH faster than the other?!?
