I'm not sure if everyone knows this already but here's what I did. So I was bored in my garage and was looking at my huge antenna. I like my friends shorty so I decided to chop it down with a pair of bolt cutters. I started smoothing the end of it so it not sharp and crappy looking. Then I wondered if that ball comes off. It does so I drilled the hole bigger to match the thicker base and pounded it on with a hammer. I wet sanded the whole thing witch made it look really good but I decided to go black. So I sprayed it with a clear primer then an exterior black trim paint I had laying around. I think it looks great.!! Beats paying for one any day. Just thought I'd share
