dont let chris see this thread, he'll just call you lazy for wanting to get a GT instead of putting the work into the v6 :p typical v8 hate, its not like you can't put work into a v8 and be proud of it either

i dont have anything against a v6 cause i own one, but i also own a v8, so id get a GT instead of modding the v6, and then when u have the money just mod the GT and you'll have a bad ass car, especially if its your dream car man, its your money but if you want a GT go with a GT

oh and go convertible bro thats what my v6 is, but its a fun car to cruise! as far as the longtube headers, yeah they won't fit without modification, but who cares! get shorties if you have to, may not be as good as lt's but its whatever ur preference is, if you want performance go with a coupe, if you want cosmetics go with a convertible, they can look really sharp, i mean so can a coupe but i like convertibles better for cosmetics

clearly you didnt understand why i said it last time
there nothing wrong with modding a GT but why get one?
if your looking for big power anyway EVERYTHING will need to be worked on
tranny, rear, engine etc..
all will break around the same as a V6 aside from the rear

and to the person who said you can brag about having a GT :confused:why?
whats to brag about they're still slow as well. especially the 2vs, and non pi GTs...
they'll blow at around 400rwhp just like our car just with in time.
the tranny is the same as ours

its not that i hate the v6 i love mine and i got a list of bs i want to do to it but i think it will prolly cost more to mod the v6 and i plan on modding the gt :] the convertable i want somebody wasted

you havent seen prices on GT parts plus the already $3-5k more for the GT
the parts are the same price if not more expensive
the only thing cheap is the clutch
plus how to you figure. each piece like header and heads need more material for an extra cylinder which is more $$$
2 cams
2 more wires and plugs
etc

Screw a GT for 13k, just buy a 98+ trans am/z28

But I'm with chris on the GT, whats to brag about? It takes them tons of mods to be fast (excluding nitrous), parts are typically more expensive, labor is typically more expensive, and have you ever tired to put long tubes on a 2v(pita).

im pretty sure your not good at math $13k for that GT
you might sell your car for $7k if its got low miles

$5k extra your spending you do the math from there on out
my turbo kit was $4k fuel injectors and fuel pump was $300
lol i'll ripped that GT up shifting at 4500rpms lol and im not tuned
tune and 10psi or 12 will make the GT a joke

you can also get a s/c or nitrous as well and also tear the GT apart
justins procharger is $4500 has EVERYTHING you need even a tune
bolt ons and nitrous will take that car
power pak and bolt ons and tune
allll with money left over

I believe his key was which is the better investment which in reality is the GT. The GT has far more potential than the V6 and ALWAYS will. Torres if you raced a turboed or s/c GT youd get your doors blown in and you know it. I understand where you are coming from with both engines max power before forged internals and such, but come on would you rather have a worked up V6 or a worked up GT.

Im not gonna not continue to argue but if you and a GT had the same exact mods LTs, prochamber, same brand turbo, s/c...whatever...the GT is always gonna win. Forget about the difference in costs between the V8 and the V6 and just look at V8 power vs V6 power.

hahaha who called it? i knew chris would have something to say....so lets put it this way, a stock GT is gonna smoke a stock v6, no modding, completely stock, end of story, theres too many factors to consider if you bring mods into play, so the only fair race to compare a GT to a v6 is completely factory stock :) otherwise you will be arguing back and forth all day saying "well if i did this and this to this" blah blah blah

oh and who cares about cost? if thats the only way u can can prove a v6 would be a better route to take than thats stupid, i bought my mach 1 for 6500, it has a 351 cleveland, and a hell of a lot of room for potential, so as long as you find the right deal, a v6 isnt always gonna be less costly
