Are you familiar with the site americanmuscle.com? If not, check it out, you'll probably spend much more time on there than you want too, great site. Anyway, not sure how much extra juice your looking for but they sell 135 amp alternators for your generation V6 and up to 200 amp's for the GT's.

 

I know about the site. The 135 amp alternator is stock and i already killed one of those. Im sorry i should of explained more. Im trying to power a aftermarket sound system. Im running 1200 RMS just from 1 amp right now. Im planning on choosing a lower RMS amp and subwoofers to get a second amp for all 4 6x8 speakers which all together will run about 1150 RMS. Im wondering how many big of a alternator do i need for that and also if you know any high ouput sellers for my type of mustang.

 

You need to buy a ho alt. ...you need to do the big 3 upgrade also maybe a secondary battery

 

A cap is useless

I just did a quick google search. If you trust ebay I found this 250 amp alternator for $160. I'm sure there are more on ebay as well.

frown upon ebay, 1. theyre rebuilt 2. they do not do the advertised power.

 

You'd be surprised how many "new" parts are rebuilt especially for older cars. new parts stop being produced eventually
