idea for wiring line lock

I just got in the jpc line lock. I was thinking about running a relay under the hood by the solenoid and wiring the relay to my fog light harness. I dont have the fogs anymore cause of the charge piping for the paxton. So i could turn the parking lights on and pull the knob when i want to use it, pump the brakes and hold the button on the speed dawg knob. Opinions???

sunds like too much work at the track (not to mention the extra wiring) but I guess if your motivated enough it would work.

I guess its all in how you look at it, I was just refering to the one extra step (ie. turning the lights on) that really isn't nessesary.

Yeah, but I can see the safety of an arm switch (fog light) and then an activate switch. Would keep them from activating on the road during normal driving.

I follow what you guys are saying, but the speed dawg shift knobs use momentary switches.

linelocks need brake pressure to work so not only would a person have to build brake pressure, they would have to knowingly hold down the momentary switch on the knob at the same time, highly unlikely to happen by accident.

but, relays fail, you might forget to turn on the fog light switch, extra wiring means more points of failure, etc.

my point was keep it simple, in the o/p's posission I would just use the jpc supplied wiring & swap out their switch for the one in the shift knob is the point I was trying to make.
