I'm glad you enjoyed your Christmas. Now where are the parts you owe me?

Hi everyone.

I joined so I could let everyone know about one of your long time members.

JakeM- I agreed to buy his dual pumps and FPDM on 11/12. He didn't want to deal with PayPal so I agreed to send him a personal check. I decided that he was a good-standing member of S197forum and I could trust him. I sent him a check on 11/14.

11/20 - He sent me a PM letting me know that he had received the check on the previous day.

11/22 - He sent me a PM letting me know that he was sick but would deposit the check and send the pumps the next day. I told him to just get better, that I wasn't in a hurry.

12/2 - He sent me a PM letting me know that he had cashed the check but wanted to make sure it had cleared first; promised shipmenton on that day or the following Monday.

12/5 - Check cleared my account.

12/7 - I asked if he had shipped the parts yet.

12/9 - I asked again.

12/13 - He responded and was very apologetic. He promised to ship the parts on 12/16. I responded that it wasn't a problem but I was concerned when he didn't communicate.

12/17 - I asked whether the parts had shipped.

12/19 - I asked a mod at S197forum to forward a message to his email since he hadn't responded. I reiterated that I just needed him to communicate. JakeM responded by PM that he would be shipping in a few minutes and would send me a pic of the confirmation. Then he sent me a PM asking for my address again. I sent him my address again.

12/20 - I asked if the parts were shipped.

12/26 - Crickets. Still haven't heard from him.

I think I have been very patient, but my patience is wearing very thin. I understand that **** happens and life sometimes gets in theway, but the least you can do is communicate with me.

I'm not asking anyone to do anything. I'm a big boy and will chalk this up to lessons learned. I just want everyone on here to know how this went down so you don't have the same thing happen to you.

i'm sure Jake has a reasonable explanation for it. I know you've been patient, and good for you for being patient. Maybe he has sent it and it just hasn't gotten to you yet.

just give him some time holidays always have people going everywhere and now that you have this thread quit bumping all of his old threads. He'll reply to this as soon as he sees it.

I think I've given him plenty of time. And I'm not so sure he'll reply. He hasn't to PMs or emails that I have sent or the mods at S197forum sent.

Since you've told me you were going to ship them 3 other times, you'll understand if I'm a little skeptical. But I would appreciate it if you did.

Due to you labeling this as "new member" and not "JakeM wheres my money" or something along the lines of that. I mean how would he even know this thread has anything to do with him So yes your strategy worked along with you annoying a few members in the process though, but glad things worked out for you.

You obviously didn't get my point. I didn't post this thread to get him to respond. I posted in his threads because i was pretty sure he would look in there. If people are annoyed so easily, maybe they shouldn't be on the internet. With the **** that goes on, they must live in a perpetual state of annoyance.

told you things were gonna be fine.
I'll believe it when i see the parts. Forgive my skepticism, but he's promised to ship them 3 other times.

Thread cleaned up, take all of that **** to PM's guys.
How is that supposed to happen if he doesn't respond to my PM? Also, why did you delete the post where he lied and said the post office was too busy today? The USPS is closed today. His excuses and lies are getting old. Why are you covering up for him?

You guys keep saying he's a good guy, but he's lied several times to me. In his revolver thread, he said that he didn't ship it today because the USPS was too busy. Guess what? The USPS is closed. But one of the mods has decided to cover for him and delete those posts.

yeah i hear ya, half the time i just want a person to respond to me and let me know what's up. you get that gut feeling you're being screwed and nothing can make you feel better about it especially if they're not responding back to you.

Joe, have any of the other posts you've made in multiple other threads, or this thread, been deleted? Maybe they were deleted in that particular thread because we don't want multiple threads full of the same problem? That's hardly us covering for him. I can assure you if we were somehow covering for him, none of your posts would be left. We don't work that way. We've had a pretty good track record here at MM of letting people speak their peace regarding ensuring transactions are completed. I understand the frustration of something like this, but us saying we think Jake is a good guy and deleting a handful of posts from one of the multiple threads you've commented in regarding this doesn't mean we're picking sides and/or covering for anyone.

Fair enough. It's just that the posts that got deleted included Jake's only response, the one in which he lied about the post office. Can you not understand how I would conclude that someone purposely deleted it so there would be no evidence of it? Especially since he is so well liked here?

IMHO - he's way past the point to "make it right" he can deliver the promised items, however that doesn't make it right. Joe has had to go way out of his way so far and the delay and frustrations cannot be made right IMO.

Who the hell is stupid enough not to use some type of buyers protection?
someone who believes he is dealing with a trustworthy individual. It's really not such a stretch to see that. People who have been in business for years, like Joe, make decisions of trust and chose to do deals with those individuals.
My occupation is built on trust, I have made multi-million dollar transactions happen based on trust.

I think I've given him plenty of time. And I'm not so sure he'll reply. He hasn't to PMs or emails that I have sent or the mods at S197forum sent.
I sent him a PM for you as well. Jake's a good guy - I'm sure he's got an explanation.
I am the mod @ S197 Joe reached out to. I sent two emails to him, the first he replied to Joe via a PM (nothing to me) and the second he totally ignored. IMO if he was a "good guy" a simple reply to me would have happened "hey I'm on it, sorry you had to get involved" seriously, 30 seconds? too much to do to let people know you're working on it.

Unless he's been in the hospital I don't buy it with today's access to technology.

To those who've posted that they messaged him, have you gotten a response????
