Just to start this out, Mod's please leave this in the tech section. There are quite a few things im going to have questions on and will likely get answers faster here then in the project section.

With that said the plan:
I am starting off with pretty much full bolt on's and a half pi swap. While fun at first i am now bored. So i started buying parts. First up i came across a good deal on a Bullitt intake. Its missing parts, so i am going to be on the hunt. Right now it is spray painted black, and its peeling and cracked. So i plan on having it powder coated Silver. Here is a pick as it sits now.

Next up were the cams. Was planning on going with either CMS or MHS cams. Well as everyone knows things start adding up. And when looking at stage 2 cams, the price with the cam, getting them degreed (im clueless with that) and upgraded springs i was looking at $900. Well came across a deal on Corral. One of the first guys to run the MHS recession buster cams is now going 4v. So he gave me the cams and the adjustable crank gears already degreed for a hell of a deal.

So now im looking to buy heads and the rest of the stuff i need for the bullitt swap. Im hoping to hit around 290-300hp with this combo, but not getting my hopes up. Il update the thread as i obtain more parts, and as questions come along. Thanks for viewing:)

That intake is badass! Good luck with the build.

All the haters will hate on your cam choice until they see the numbers :p

nice build man and good choice on intake. i am very close to finishing my bullitt intake manifold swap. had it powder coated satin black and used MMR fuel rails with all braided lines. so i could probably answer questions for you if you need help with the bullitt. also have pi heads on mine already.
good luck to ya and will be poking back to check the progress

quick teaser shot of what it could look like for ya

Yea keep an eye on me! I started going through your build thread and came across the intake and had to have it. And the satin black looks great! Hopefully i can get a decent amount of my questions answered from your thread. You dont see to many 96-98s with that intake on there. So should stand out a little.

ya. i have always wanted this intake. took me over a year to find the right deal. plus i went with the COP swap at the same time. I had planned on doing a kind of write up in my thread but got lazy and didnt touch the stang for months and then one day a couple weeks ago splurged, bought everything, and threw it on there so I didnt do any write up. but feel free to ask and ill try my best to help out.
and you deffinitely do not see many bullitt manifolds out there let alone on a sn95

yea i shouldn't have said build thread, i basically stalk your profile look up things you've posted about it and read. thats not weird right:shiftyeyes
But im glad you are finally finishing it up, cant wait to see the results. And i will definitely take you up on asking you questions.

If you have no desire to change the heads, I would put a good cam and LT's on there and you would be pretty happy. Those with a tune and full bolt ons would probably put u in the 260-280 range. Pi cams can be had for cheap and r really easy to drop in, but they are not the best cam out there for our heads.

Well the intake is getting sandblasted so i should have that back soon to get powdercoated. Been trying to figure out what direction i wanted to go with the car and decided that i want all motor. So i bought this lil baby.

Bare teksid was pulled from a 98 cobra with 80,000 on the clock. bought a 6 bolt crank to match up to my fly wheel. And il be looking for stock rods and pistons out of a 4v. That should shoot my compression up to about 11.8-1. I want (and need) to run pump gas. So i will be using a little thicker gasket for the heads to bring it down to around 11.4-11.5-1. Hoping that i wont run into any issues with that compression. Everything i have read so far says thats as high as you want to go on pump gas. I will be running 93 because its at pretty much every other gas station around here. Anyone on here thats good at figuring out static compression let me know what il be at with those cams and il make sure i give u rapes. Thats it for now till my next parts come in the mail:naughty:

damm you! thats exactly what i was going to do but i ran out of money so i had to keep my stock bottom end. Looks like im gonna have to put a turbo on mine or something now hahaha.
anyways. cant wait to see the rest of this build. pretty jealous. should be a pretty fun car afterwards.

Lol sry man, I just figured it would be easier to swap a full motor in then tearing it apart in the car. So that led me to start looking at options. You can still do it if you want I won't mind. 10.5-1 compression and a turbo would be fun though!

haha i was just busting you. i am looking forward to checking this build out throughout. and yea dropping a full motor in will be a lot easier. and building motors is awesome. ive always thought about slowly building one on the side then dropping it in my stang.
deffinitely keep us updated with pics

Will do should have more this week to put up. My dad has a high compression all motor 351 Cleveland so kinda inspired this build.

Damn man!! I wish I had time to do this, have fun!
Hopefully you will have time when I get stuck at certain parts hahaha

Yea i was also thinking of that because i havent seen one that color. il dig for pics and see what i can fine. And yes i just saw your thread man, comments in there.

Are you going to do any pretty work? I was thinking of gasket matching my lower, when you get gaskets I would like to see how much material would need to be removed.
Yes im working on finding another set of valve covers and i will be sanding the ridges off and painting them. And no problem, i probably will start ording the gaskets the beginning of the winter. Still have to buy heads, and have the heads and block checked out. I also looked into porting the intake, the only people that i saw gains were F/I applications. Not sure if that changes your mind on the matter.

Haha oooooo. No I had thought about it but it seems so hit or miss. Some people get great results from it some dont I don't understand it. So I figured I would have the heads refreshed and that's it. Decided to spend the money on bumping the compression and loosing weight. They are proven performance increases.

Are you still going to use your RB cams for this? You went to all the trouble with the teksid block lol may as well just go all out..

Well currently i have everything for sale haha for what everything was costing me to what i was going to get out of it wasnt adding up. So right now i have been looking at going 4v unless someone offers a hell of a deal on a trade for something else.
