So your gonna build the 2v after all?

Glad to hear it, you can get good power you just have to give up the N/A idea. Adding some boost really wakes up these motors and makes them scream.

If your still trying to decide what to do with your intake here is a pic of mine. It's polished.

the polished look definitely looks good, but i sold that intake:facepalm:. I thought i was going 4v so i was trying to get money for all the parts. So now it will be a teksid block, coyote rods, forged pistons (10.5-1), PI heads with upgraded valve springs. Looking to get either CMS stage2 cam, hitechs, or MHS. hopefully il hit 300rw with this set up. If nothing else the car will be 70 pounds lighter.

sounds good but I honestly have to ask, Why so adamant that you want to stay NA?
Lol idk really, everyone goes for boost from the start and i want something different. The plan is to have strong motor that puts down around 300hp and hooks up. Suspension will be next to help with that. To me power is nothing if you can put it to the ground. I figure if i lighten the car up some, make decent power and can hook it will be a fun car:thumb: I have a bike if i really want to go fast haha.

Few updates:
1. Heads are almost done, they are getting the trickflow upgraded valve springs and a 3 angle valve job.

2. Block needed bored 20 over and what not. Ran into some issues with my dd (stupid explorers and there shitty trans) and at the same time my bike got a nail in the back tire. So as life would have it no built bottom end at this time. It sucks but hey thats life, i didnt really need it at this point but it would have been nice for later. So this is turning into just another pi swapped stang for now.

3. Picked these up today to help finish the deal.
For Sale MHS stage 1 nitrous cams 2v - Ford Mustang Forums : Corral.net Mustang Forum
thanks to rtusnake on corral for one hell of a deal on these cams. Pretty much everyone i have seen run this cam has made 300 or close to it with awesome torque normally in the 320 range! Cant wait to get this together to see what she runs.

For those that have degreeed cams, what cam gears did you use?

good stuff man. looking forward to seeing the compelted build. glad you stayed NA. high hp is cool to talk about but if your not dragging the car how much hp do you really need to go from street light to corner to store and whatnot. atleast where i live theres not really somewhere i need crazy power. i tore my whole car back apart. going NA as well but looking more towards 12:1.
good luck

You can weld the gears but I have read that leaving them alone will be OK too. It really depends on how off your cams are. Mine were soooo close to dead nuts I left them alone. We can check your degree when you are ready, doing it in the car is kind of a PIA but not a big deal, I have all the tools needed to do it.
The whole motor will be dropped out at my buddies shop. When we did the headers is was a lot easier this way and it doesn't take that much longer. So it will be a lot easier on u when u degree them for me haha

Small update: Finally got my heads back from the machine shop. I'm $450 poorer but man do they look pretty. They did a valve job, Decked the heads .007, cleaned the heads, and installed my new high lift valve spring kit.

New cams bolted down
