Some fool tried to steal my wheels, thank god I bought locking lugnuts, they even have a smooth collar that is free spinning so you cant pound a socket over them.

Just had to vent, and share my good luck with my favorite nuts!

I didnt, front end made noise, I pulled over (after about 100yards) I was missing 1 lug nut, and they were all loose, except for the locking ones.

I'm sure if you got the car to a shop, and worked them over for a while, you could get them off, but usually if someone wants your wheels, they dont take your car to a shop to steal them.

Lind, how would you get the ones with the collar off?

damn people. Good thing you got the lug nuts. I had some on my gt. Alot better than the other ones posted. It was thinner around the outside of the lug, and the inside was just teeth. There was no actual lug, so it would be a hell of alot harder to try and steal em. Cant find a pic tho

i have heard find a socket and weld through the square hole on the back of it to take em off before....itll cost you 4 sockets tho

I have the same gorillanut except mine doesn't have that collar on the outside/shell. Someone messed with my wheels somehow. The ride wasn't bad until the ride home. I heard a noise like my exhaust dropped; however, the car didn't drive any differn't. I then decided to make the trip home. Then my wheel decided to fall off.

-Stripped lug nuts?
~Remove them instantly with your impact wrench!

...Because a lot of thieves run around with impact wenches :p

Sucks man....I'm actually headed to Pep Boys here in a little bit to get new lockers for mine. My stock ones are shot. Stock lockers are good but the rest of them are shot...

do u live in a bad area
Hobart, IN --> Very close to Gary, IN..... :yes

This is exactly what I'm hoping Pep Boys has! If they don't, I'll use this link - Thanks man! :D

actually i've never had an impact work with those...

they only work for me if i use a regular ratchet to make sure they grip hard enough

i know those dont work with the collared ones...

just showing how easy some are to get off.

the collared ones are hardest to get off but definitely do-able if you're determined enough, which the average rim thief isn't.
