Ok so i am just trying to get some opinions on which direction i should go. I am in the process now of selling my 03 gt and am saving up money for a new mustang. Here's where i hit a dilemma. I just dont know whether i should invest in a mach 1 or a cobra. Now my mom's co-worker has a mach 1 and i basically have fell in love with it. I go to the race track with him and just love the car. But then, whenever i am looking online for cars for sale, i always find myself searching for the cobras just to see whats there. Its kinda that feeling of like marrying someone when your just not really sure about it. Like i know all the differences with the cars and everything and i think the mach's are my favorite looking mustangs, but then like on the other hand its a cobra. Basically i am just looking for some input and opinions. Thanks for all the help

dissapointed? highly doubt it. my buddy had a 99cobra and i would have needed full bolt ons to even run with him from a roll...imo you'll need every single bolt on to even run with a stock 4v. add all that up and you could probably just get a 4v in the first place.

a stock mach will run as fast or in most cases faster than a bolt on gt.

and a stock cobra aint walking all over a full bolt on mach 1....there are quite a bit running low 12's no prob

you guys are only focusing on the speed thing really. it all depends on what the op wants in the car. if you just want a mustang that's competitive and looks good, and if you like the looks of the mach's more, then by all means go for that. but if you are looking for speed and have the extra money to spend then it's termy all the way.

i love the styling of the mach one the front is more curved and the shaker hood i really like, and i was just watching a video on the cobras and they say they have an iron block, i know the machs have an aluminum black, how much can the cobra motor handle?

basically i am looking for a nice looking mustang, i have been really looking into the whole drag racing thing lately and getting more into it and i really love it. and if i decide on the cobra i would most definitely wait and save up the extra couple thousand for that.

Cobra motor will take whatever you throw at it straight from the factory. It comes with forged internals. 6 speed tranny. SO EASY to get more power out of it.

One bad thing about it (to drag racing guys) is that it has independent rear suspension.

I know that, I was just refering to your IRS comment.
but lets be real, theres a reason why every other thread on a cobra web site is either related to a sraight axle swap or an auto swap.

Thats understandable, but this is part of the question i pose, i want to invest in this car and what i mean by that is having the car for a while, and i dont plan on twin turboing it on the stock block to blow it up, maybe boltons and pulleys and basic **** like that, and as for the power wise my moms co worker has a mach 1 and my uncle just sold his 08 super snake which was a beast

saying the cobra motor can take whatever you can throw at it is far from true, however it is much stronger then the mach. but if all you want is bolt ons a stock bottom end would be perfectly happy with that. i agree if you wanna drag race get the mach. i personally like the looks of termy's over any other stang. but that's me.
