Sorry for not having a whole lot of information. I am at lunch right now, and will post some more later tonight.

What is that adaptor kit worth?

Did you buy intercooled setup or no?

A local guy completed his swap about a year ago, he was the 1st one to actually pull it off, using a custom lower intake and the Cobra intercooler and pulled over 400rwhp on a safe tune with stock exhaust manifolds and a stock 2V engine, so there's some potential in that kit as long as it's similar to the prototype he recieved. I know the intercooler is different on the production piece, but I'm not sure how much different.

I was very surprised at the numbers it pulled, pretty impressive.

Here's the build thread:

Didn't know it was private.

Key Points: 402rwhp, 460 ft lbs of torque with a perfect air fuel ratio. Stock longblock car. Car made over 400ft lbs from 2500rpm's all the way to 5500. 14lbs of boost, I believe.

Sounds like a fun ride.

Don't have the exact amount right now. But I can tell you this. If you are just looking for the power no matter how you get it, go with Shaun03GT's build. I garentee it is alot cheaper. Now that being said the only 2 reasons I went with the Tork Tech kit is I wanted the down low tourqe, and I wanted the blower whine....not going to lie I loves me some blower whine. It also helps that down the road I can throw a big Kennebell, or whipple on, but thats a big down the road. There is alot of small parts that most don't think about that nickle, and dime you, and bring the cost of this kit up. Now it is cheaper than going with a Intercooled Kenne Bell, but like I said if you just want the power, go with a Vortec. Anyways still no write up, but some more progress pics.

Here is the blower/intercooler/intake with the cobra injectors on.

Here is the 8 Rib drive assembly mocked up with intercooler Res attached.

Here is another thing you have to think about. You have to notch the block about a 1/2 inch here to allow the intercooler lines to pass by. Note: I have not notched it yet in this pic, just for referance.

Here are some pics of when I recieved the kit.

sweet deal man! the one and only thing I dont like about my KB is gonna be the cost of upgrading it...that manifold can be combined with any blower that will fit a cobra...right up to a 2.8H :D

#25 ·
Actually i email Kennebell, and according to the info they gave me I can stuff the 2.8 mammoth in there. They also told me there is talk about a 3.X  on the way for the 03-04 Cobras but they were not sure on it yet. Who knows, it could just be BS.

#28 ·
Ohh okay cool. Can you take the honey comb off the hood scoop? I want to do that but Im afraid its not supported enough and itll get ripped off from the air while Im driving.

And thanks a lot man I appriciate it. Long time coming, so it seemed but it was all wayyyy worth it. Looking back, I loved every second of it. Between ordering the parts (especially the head unit and intercooler) to the install. Minus fuel hose kinking on me. That sucked, But I dropped the tank, fixed it, put the tank back up all in about a half hour.

#29 ·
Ya I also have the Ford Gt pump, it was quite fun to say the least. You actually can take out the honeycomb on the torktech hood scoop. It bolts in, but I would be a little worried about the air that it catches.

#30 ·
Nice did you see the write-ups for the Ford GT supercar pump? If not let me know I can help you out.

It was really fun, the Tork Tech must be a blast. Totally giving the engine bay a differant, and much much better look.

It bolts in? How exactly? Do you have to drill holes from the hood scoop through the hood? I would support mine better if I knew what to do.

#31 ·
I actually did a write up a while back on the pump.

Ya it gives the engine bay a whole new(awesome)look to it.

Ya you have to drill a few holes, no biggie, and I am sure it would be ok, just get some bigger washers. The ones it come with are not very big, but i am probably just being a sissy. I will get some detailed pics for you in the next few days.

#34 ·
Cool thanks man, and lol no u werent being a dick. Sometimes I think I come off like one...and it almost looks like Im 'trying" to act like I know it all lol.

But yea once you do the write up let me know. Thanks man! Whens your tune?

#35 ·
Accually...what else do you have left to do before the tune? And then when is the tune..lol

#37 ·
Lol thats always good. Congrats though. Keep us updated, and definatley more pics once you can

I have a 2000 GT with a Saleen s/c kit. I bought the car with the kit installed from a close friend, who wanted to move on to a full track car. The car was MINT, and I love it. I never leave anything alone, so I added the chicane intercooler. For those that don't know, the stock Saleen intercooler has gaps that allow A LOT of hot air to pass uncooled. The chicane adds a flange that gets sandwiches between the manifold and s/c. Yours has that too, so that is a big plus.

The intake mani itself looks about the same in basic design. Does that kit give you a crank pulley with two belt sizes or is it another pulley they use for the 8 rib pulley to drive the s/c. So I am guessing you now have two pulley tensioners?

I do like the simplicity of my setup with the stock belt system, but I did blow $800 plus some extras for the intercooler upgrade (well worth it but maybe not when your kit is available). The stock cobra blowers are capable of more power as well. It used to be you could get saleen kits with EVERYTHING for $3,500. Now, they go for closer to $5k.

Looks good man; keep up the good work.
