Ive been gone a while as i sold my other 92 notch a while back. Anyway I have a guy that wants to trade me a 92 notch for my 82 blazer. The problem I have is that he doesnt know much about the motor. Heres what he knows: its a 306, vortech S trim at 8lbs, AFR 205s (which seem way too big), Edelbrock upper and lower, BBk longtubes into flows, TKO 600, 410 posi, welded subframe connectors. He doesnt know what pistons, cam etc are in the car. He says it runs like a bat out of hell which I dont doubt but just kinda sceptical since he doesnt know all the specs of the engine since he didnt build it. I asked him to get a hold of the previous owner who had the engine built, but he hasnt been able to reach him. This car will be driven to and from work and around town, not a race car. I know im missing some vital info, but tell what you guys think. I havent drove the car yet because i wanted to get some opinions first. Im concerned about those big ass heads on a lil ole 306.

Thoughts please

No, its not the power. My concern is that it won't have mind enough manners to be streetable

I say go for it If you want. Either the car works or it doesn't. If he been driving for a while and it's not putting out crazy power id say its good to go. It sounds like it was built right

Honestly why don't you just test drive it and decide for yourself?

I plan on doing just that. I'm just trying to find out from you guys whether its gonna be street able as a driver or not

Especially not knowing what cam and pistons are in the thing. Comp ratio etc......

I'm going to look at this notch this afternoon. Wish me luck I sure hope its a solid car I miss my old notch. Anything you guys can think of specific to look for?

I've heard of them tearing up but I've never seen a bad one so I'm not sure if I'd know what I was looking at

An 82 blazer for a 92 supercharged, afr headed notch? If you don't trade, I want a shot at this guy. sheesh, that's like looking a gift horse in the mouth. And you can see what heads they are by getting the part number right off the front of the head and calling AFR or going on their website to see what they are.

I agree on checking the torque boxes. I didn't check mine and I'm now rebuilding the one on the passenger drivers side.

I picked up the notch last night and its a nice car. Its straight but needs paint.

One thing that did piss me off was I took my neighbor for a ride in it. Got pulled over by the damn cops and when i tried to start it back up it wouldn't fire for nothing. It just turned over. Finally after about 30 minutes it fired right up and drove it home. Not sure what the deal was with that.
