Thank you!! Is it that hard to get timing right? I'm not sure exactly how that means and what not... Sorry(not mechanically inclined) il show him this post tho if I have him do it

Wrong link? Thats a link on how to lower lol. Nonetheless. Your saying it's easy correct?
lol my bad.. I had read "springs" in the comment I quoted from you and I remember a few up we were talking about Koni's .. so I thought you were interested in the shock/strut install.

personally i think you're crazy for not wanting the sound of a cammed car. i do think if you've ever turned a wrench then you can do this. not difficult at all. even if for some reason you did let the chain slip it's still quite simple to pull the cover and retime the engine. when i did my heads/cams i pulled the engine and did all the work using the online ford maintenance manual.

I'm leaning more and more towards a cam... Not sure which type now as I do not know the differences. I heard comp nsr stage 2 cams are what I'm looking for. Any imput on these? Can I just do an email tune with this? I have a predator.

Anything can be emailed for a tune... just have to find someone who writes for predator.. or hot rod cams from frpp... I think they both sound great from videos I have heard online, also with your mods it would be a killer set up! I have full exhaust(on order) and cams and cmdp are my next orders..

ok!ive done research and talked to my friend and we can do it. Now as to what cam... I want to get either Comp stage 1 or comp stage 2 (NSR) any recomendations? i heard more power from 2, but wider power band with still good power with stage 1s. any suggestions? im probably going to get a bama email tune with it.

i personally love the sound of a loapy cam. i'd go with the mutha thumpers since you don't want to mess with the springs.

if you don't want the sound definitely get the comp nsr.

i think it's always best to call and talk to the manufacturer. at the very least just go to the comp website.

here's the site for the nsr stage 1's. "no tuning required" although it's always best to tune for your mods. will get a little more from it that way

So if I have someone install them how much longer for install if I go like 500's? Then I would need new springs and phaser botls? I don't know **** about internal engine.. how much for everything, I hardly ever drive my baby and when I do I want it to sound nice and lopey, along with good power gains, already have 4.10's and full exhaust when it finally shows up..

you can get a loapy cam that is an nsr. comp has the thumpers, brenspeed has detroit rockers (made by comp), pretty sure frpp has some too, and lets don't forget about bbr.

if you have the funding and someone can help you do this or you can follow step by step instructions i'd just go with the bigger cams. after buying everything doing the 127500 cams will probably be a bit over a grand. you'll need the cams (obviously), springs, phase limiters or lockouts (i'd go with just limiters unless you plan on having high hp later on), new cam bolts, and some prelube.

i got lucky and only paid about $550 for my cams. this was back when rich was still in business

I want a cam that's not too lopey. I'm really looking at the comp cams Xfi stage 1 and stage 2.
They fit my price range and I was recomended these by AM. anybody know pros or cons? I heard the stage 1 is lower power band. But stage 2 is higher power at higher rpm. It's a dd, but I'm only 20 so I do get on it quite often:) and also track it every other month.

i paid 650 for my cams and installed them myself.

and on the sound trust me you want the lope ;)
every time you are at a stop sign, stoplight, pull into a parking lot you will get tons of stares!

So if I want a nice lope and some good power gains 500's.. are perfect? But the rockers from brenspeed has a good lope and nsr? I might have to get a my own thread.. haha, I have read everyone on here I think. I would probably have to pay for install, do not know anyone to help me.. we will see I guess!
