I just got a sct x2 tuner with a preloaded tune for 91. My question is how do you change for new rear gear ratios or do i have to go to get a custom tune for that?

You should be able to change other options as well. Now try reflashing it again, but select an option that says something like change previous options or set options or something like that... it has change in it lol. And it should bring a list of options, one of them being gear ratio.

But there should be an option to change the tune preferences a little bit. before you okay it to download, it should say
1. Change Tune
2. Download Tune
3. Save tune

Or something like that, idr its been a while. But you click on the change one so you can modify the tune to your likings on little things like fuel type or gear ratios.

well all mine said was when i plugged it into my car was turn key on dont start so i did that then it gave me the option of install tune, read dtc codes, clear dtc codes, and like device info and vehicle info and stuff like that. Then i clicked install tune

Did it actually install the tune? Like turned your fan on and showed a load bar and everything?

put the chip back in, put the tuner back on, and go to return to stock then take out the chip after thats done.

hmmm... have you ever uploaded it on your car where it actually changed the stock tune to a performance one?

no i bought the tuner used off ebay and got it yesterday and the guy said it was unlocked. before the tuner i just had the eliminator chip in there then when i got the tuner i tried loading the 91 tune on there and it said power up msg time out but the fan came on. Then after i took my chip out and tried to upload it, it said wrong vehicle. I tried after that to put the chip back in and returning it to stock and it says the same power up msg time out bull shittt

alright i got it working now apparently it was half locked meaning i could download the live update and all i had to do was unlock it. I installed the tune and it runs like **** so for now im just gonna use my chip and get a custom tune put on the tuner

Do you have the correct fuel for the tune? You should only have a tune for the lowest grade fuel you have in your tank. No mixing and still using the higher grade tune.

I have a question...
Say the car is sitting in my driveway with half a tank of 87 octane fuel in it and I want to tune it to 93 octane, should I empty that tank then fill up with 93 a couple times to flush out the 87 THEN tune it or wat?

I would just suggest purchasing a custom tune, with your mods, you'll get a better gain out of them than with just the stock ecu... try bamachips, or brenspeed.

well i googled the problem and a guy bought a used tuner and a cai and had the same problem. Apparently when you get a tune its for the one car that the tuner is locked for and thats it. The guy did the same thing and when he went to start his car it ran like ****

Your fine just put the 93 in it, atleast a half a tank and then just use 93 after that bro
