my 02 v6.. it has 90k miles now.. is it too late to start modding? if yes, what are my options? i want to stay v6 in this car.. maybe 4.2l.. what are pros and cons and such.. well thanx

**** it man, i say go for it. My car is 73K and i just started modding, and gonna be through with the setup i listed in an earlier post in about 4 months. Just where we are at, the simple things will start to go wrong like starter, alternator, etc. **** Big Ten Tires can fix lol

i started modding at 85, blew the tranny at 95, and continued modding into 100k

its not too late.. just start doing bolt-ons then when your motor starts going out rebuild it to a 4.2l and all the bolt-ons will still work for it

yeah, do rear end gears, other drivetrain and suspension mods and later replace the 3.8 with a 4.2... not a bad idea.

if you get the engine rebuilt then don't just get it rebuilt, get it blue printed, although i just talked to my freind who builds and races porshe's and other cars, he said that you don't really have to rebuild anymore, with a new crank shaft (which is one of the things i think you have to get to stroke) forged pistons and better heads, cams rocker rollers ect. you really are kind of rebuilding the engine anyways except with hi po parts. at least you can do this as long as the block isn't cracked, then if that happens you should get an alluminum block and make your engine about 200 lbs lighter. point is that you don't necicarily have to rebuild, just make it stronger and newer from now on

blueprinting and engine that is under 500 horses is just pointless IMO there is no need for it unless it will be tore down and rebuilt a lot like a drag engine. And rebuilding an engine is changing everything but the block you change the block you have a new engine. I am still modding at 88k miles and plan to till she blows at which point I get a new one with a turbo

i found a 3.8L v6 that only has 18000 miles on it from a 2002 in the scrap yard 15 min from my house and they only want 600 bones for it can you say project motor!
