My friend just picked up a 04 2v GT 5 speed.

What are some good heads to put on? I have heard that Trick Flow makes a good set, he doesnt want to port his stockers just because he is the kind of guy to likes to be able to reput everything back to stock....

Are trick flows anygood? Is there a good cheaper set of heads that will do just about as well, his mustang is about bone stock, well CAI... he has also ordered at set of 3.73s and a SCT tuner.

If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know, also what would be a good combo for cams as well? His future plans only include basic bolt ons and maybe 100 shot spray later on... no S/C

If you can, let me know where the cheapest place to buy your suggestions, any help will get some good reps put to your account....

So far N/A wise they haven't been proven to be much better than a set of good ported stock heads. I haven't seen any real FI dyno sheets to compare yet, so who knows. If he's staying N/A then it's not really worth it to be honest.

Check out Modularheadshop - MHS Nick has a lot of info on heads/cams and it's a good read.

when you get a fully assembled head with the cams installed and degreed, is this a hard install to tackle your self? I get a little nervous as well as my friend when we go that deep into the engine....

Any idea how much a install cost would be?

I got 44 cc TFS heads and with their .550 cam I made 320 to the rear wheel a couple months ago. I was at Speedy dyno in owensboro ky. I have a stock bottom end, no nitrous or boost. Not saying 320 is good or anything just that thats what i made. I HAD the chart but my car seems to have eaten it. I dont see why I couldnt have a copy emailed to me. Ill see if i can and ill put it on here. But the TFS heads are great, I have had NO problems out of them at all.

Did you install yourself or did you pay to have them done, if you paid, how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking....

I had my stock heads ported back in 04 and can not even remember anymore how much I paid....

I paid around $750, but I also had new gaskts put on (oil pan along with the normal ones to change with this mod) also had the motor pulled and had manely rod bearings put in, and I went ahed and had a set of shorty header installed also. So the above number is with other mods included.
I NEVER do my own stuff..... f I break something I have to pay for it, if a guy at the garage breaks something HE has to pay for it.
