i bought my 06 gt brand new and i loved it like crazy, put lotta money into getting it how i like it, but now that the new s550 is coming out our cars have gone down in value hard (mines only got 30k miles) and people are snagging them up left and right, i seen like 20 cars just like mine today alone :/ (with american muscle mods, they advertise mods to 'set urs apart' but everyone buys the same mods :|

but honestly i love mustangs the best over all the others and i got mine exactly how i wanted it, but what else could i do to totally set it apart from the rest?

Paint it a non factory color. Unless every mod you have is one-off, someone somewhere is gonna have something you have and with the amount of mustangs out there chances are high you'll meet that person somewhere. But the color of your car is something you can change that most likely someone else won't have.

It's a Mustang. Like Chris said, they are all going to look the same at some point.

I found a kid who has a car almost identical to mine, minus the supercharger and engine mods.

As stated, if you want that one of a kind look, you are going to have to do something crazy (paint color, rim color, engine mods, elaborate turbo, flux capacitor).

What mods do you have? All I see from a visual mod standpoint are the rims (prob the most popular rim choice for the s197) and the painted mirrors. There are a TON of parts to add and set it apart but again it's a mustang....AM sells a lot of every mod I'm sure. Buy them all and that will limit how many people have your exact car.

Well whatever you do, don't buy the AMR wheels. Or any of the wheels AM manufactures. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a set of them. Not saying they're ugly. I almost bought AMR's before I decided on Forgestars.

Oh and Widow... :drool

Well considering you posted this in tech, clearly there's more you can do to it... like read some of the tech articles that are tech oriented and then do some tech work to your car. You could start by lowering it. Not sure where you spent your "lotta money" but there's still room to mod.

Anyway I'm just being a dick. I'll leave this here for you:

Just think of little stuff to do. Black out panel. Lights, chins. I have one I'm planning but I ain't telling till it's done and it's something I have yet to see done, well I've seen it once but on my own car. Right now you could prob get a different spoiler and do a black rocker panel from a gt500 or something.

Not trying to put down AM at all because I've had nothing but great things from them and will continue to use them when I need to. But in their strive to appeal to everyone, they've become the Walmart of mustang parts. You want chrome AC knobs, AM has them. Want a shorty antenna, AM has them. Again nothing wrong with that, but it makes it harder to make your s197 stick out. They're is always the same stuff on their monthly sale anymore too it seems like.

If you're wanting to make it unique, you'll have to think outside the box. Look into other websites, look for other areas you overlooked.

But seriously, get a CDC shaker kit, avoid the paint cost. Go with some flat black accents. plasti-dip the gt badges and rear faux gas cap thingy, then go with a black CDC chin spoiler and plasti-dip your rear spoiler, to finish it out powdercoat those rims flat black and tint the windows and DONE!!! one bad ass(affordable) redfire S197!!! My $.02... Wish you were in the Boise area, I would help square ya away for sure! we could smoke the tail and corners lights as well.

i got the black machined AMR rims, they are my favorite.

and not many people have them, in fact go look, AM discontinued them for lack of sales, they only had 1 review, and it was mine. - you can't even get them off ebay. but everyone who sees them in person loves the hell out of my rims, i wouldn't trade them for anything.

i have a lot of mods but u can only see so much from sides, got tail lights, deck panel, head lights, turn markers, and more. honestly i got everyything i wanted from AM. didn't want to go OTT, im happy with how it looks, do you guys think i should get different rims? which ones should i get?

not a fan of louvers or changing out the stock grille

yeah that's my original plan, keep it clean stock but have minor mods to compliment the stock look - but i might get the headlights you have too, i like the halo style and looks more modern - what kind of bulbs do you use? i hear the smoked lense makes it hard to see with regular bulbs and the silverstar bulbs dont last long at all.

i would lower but i live in the worst town to lower, so many pot holes its hard enough to keep alignment with stock suspesnion.

what other mods should i get so people don't keep calling it a stock car?

i was thinking of getting quarter panel louvers but don't like how they look - should i get them anyways?

I put some HIDs in the halos. You can also lower the car, but have it not lowered as much. Complimented with some other suspension mods, it should handle quite nicely.

The louvers are up to you. I had them before, but took them out for a more clean look. Car began to look too bulky with them on.

I suggest you read these threads to get a better idea and search the forums. Just reading and understanding will help you a ton.

s/c too expensive and even suspension adds to few thousand to get it done right, i see that lowering is very popular for stangs but i see sooo many people with lowered cars always complaining about new problems, the s197 doesnt seem too high to me, my sn95 was lowered and i feel like my s197 has less gap, is it ok if i keep suspension stock? only got 30k miles atm and dont want issues right now.

anything else ud recommend?

also looked at a new hood but with the cost of my redfire paint its completely out of the question unless i get in an accident and insurance takes over.

Again, I would suggest you get familiar with the s197 platform and read all the beginner links :). They WILL help.

If you lower your car correctly, you should not have a problem with it. What I mean is, just don't throw springs on it and call it a day. If you do that, you'll eventually have problems.

Also, my car has 31k miles on it. I am in the process of changing out my entire suspension with BMR parts.
