so after i swap out my 4.6 in my mustang with my 5.4 engine, im going to have a spare 4.6 laying around. well one of my friends friends wants to buy it. he owns a 94 or 95 vert v6 mustang. i want to know if this is possible and what all he would need to take my engine. i was going to get him a full pi swap and hone the cylinders out so he could have a nice pi engine with 0 miles on it.

can you give me an idea of where to start? obviously i will need the flash the computer with a tune for a v8 due to the fact it will think its a v6 but i need to know anything and everything about this swap.

Few suggestions

Agreed he would be better off finding a 302 out of an old fox body at the scrap yard. Rather than dropping in that 4.6 it requires motor mount fabrication and I believe a little firewall cutting also im not sure but if he really want s a 4.6 i suggest having him trade his v6 for a 96-98 model v6 and then swap it. Just a thought also im sure he could buy your 4.6 and trade it for a 5.0 also. But there will be more than likely complications with the year.

u do not need new motor mounts. the stock ones will work. u need the same stuff u would need going from a regular v6 to 4.6. engine, tranny, hydroboost setup, all dash harness, ecu and harness, headlight harness. its the same swap as a 96-98 v6 to 4.6. u can pmme if needed for more info

maybe u shouldnt say things unless you actually know. that can cost someone a lot on money and time and headaches

is the car a fox? no its not. I'm not being a dick but the body from 94-98 did not change. It will fit he's just going to need everything related to that motor which in my mind isn't worth the trouble. Tell him to invest in a carbed 5.0. So much easier to deal with and no wiring.
true. but hes going to have a lot more harder time making it legal. depending on where you live you cannot put a older engine in a newer car... and unless ur pretty sharp on electronics. this proly wouldnt be a way to go. ya its going to run. but ur electrinics inside most likely are going to be off if they even work at all. just swap in the 4.6 its the same swap as the 96-04.

lol its ok. so it is possible but it just takes a lot of work correct? work is fine by me and i can help him with it. i just wanted to know if it was going to be more difficult due to the fact that the 94/95 mustangs had the 5.0 in them. i know its a v6 just didnt know if that mattered. so is the 94/95 v6 tranny the same as my t-45? he needs an ecu and harness, headlight harness, dash harness, and hydroboost setup? ok what is a hydroboost setup? what does it deal with?
