Hey all, its been a while since I've been on. Wanted your opinions. I was considering tradin my car for either a new SS Camaro, new Mustang GT, or try and get a Shelby now that the new model years are out. I put a lot into my car and it still runs great...but its startin to age and I'm kinda wanting something new.

Or I was considering waiting another half year till I pay it off and just starting new by buying a new one.

What do you guys think?

You know, thats probably one of the biggest things on my mind. If I wait for the prices on the GTs (maybe new motor?) and the SS Camaros to go down, my car will almost be paid off. They're sellin v6 camaros here for $40k+ and I honestly am not a big fan of the back of the new Mustangs. Buuuttt... I have to consider all my options.

I personally would wait...they aren't gonna give you what you want to trade it in, so you might as well keep yours and pay it off so you have another one and next year you can pick out what you really want and maybe save for a nice down payment

Of the three cars you listed I would get the Shelby (assuming you are talking about the 05-09 GT500 and not the basic Shelby GT).

It's the faster of the three, it has more potential of the three (supercharged 5.4 > N/A LSX), and in my opinion it is the better looking of the three.

My vote is to definitally stay FORD!!! the camaros have so many drawbacks in my opinions... Have you ever been around the camaro folks?? they are a little different... Plus, no chevy will ever hold the value of a shelby, the shelbys are legendary and will always be, even those stupid chyrsler shleby things from the 80s still hold their value just because the man had his hand on them....

ps. the man is Carrol Shelby..

Shelby > 2011 Mustang GT > 2010 Camaro

If you decide to wait a year and don't go for a Shelby, see what kind of horsepower the new GT will have. To this point it's probable that it will have significantly higher numbers than the current GTs.

You got it wrong. It's 07-09 Shelby > 2010 Camaro > Pretty much any other car that isn't a Toyota > Ass ugly 2010+ Mustang.

I'd keep what you have, it's a sweet car and isn't old at all. Just make it better to make it seem new again.

Keep it and wait for a new GTO to come out.

Nevermind I forgot they went out of business. Keep the Mustang.

So much 2010 hate.
Honestly after just being in a 2010 GT with everything but a nav screen, you REALLY don't give a damn about the tails. The new interior and better sound takes care of your attention and caresses it like a newborn. For me personally it's hard to say
2010 GT500? Pretty nice with all the upgraded handling, etc. on the 5.4L......you can make sick stuff happen.
2011? 5.0 coming for both the GT and GT500.......I mean 400 bhp for the price of a GT in a motor that wouldn't take much more than a bottle to blast away even a Z06 (provided the internals can handle the same increase in rwhp as the 4.6)

Enough babble: only 2010+, no point in buying a used car if you're ready to consider a new one that will hold much more value.
GT500 > C6> GT> Camaro > Prius
Wait and see, pay off the GT and get its true value from a buyer not a dealer.

That's what I keep saying. I don't get it. The 2010 looks badass front to back and top to bottom...looks like the best Mustang to date.

What level could you take your current car w/ that money??

Do you really want to start over, I mean with a car in the same situation (camaro ss)???

When I started modding mine, it SUCKED and spend ALOT of $$ doing my own R&D b/c '05... still gotta find what bugs to work out, etc...

And as far as a mustang, you already have one of the good ones... why trade? Be like the guy that had a '93 coupe 5.0 that traded it in for a new edge '96...

I like the front and the interior of the 2010. If the 2011 comes with a better motor I might just look into buying one of those and looking at aftermarket rear bumpers.

I've heard the new Camaro SS puts down 410rwhp or something with just full exhaust. If thats right, thats close to my numbers and I have a supercharger. I'll probably end up keepin my baby and payin her off. I'm at the limit with it right now as far as performance unless I wanna build up the engine.

We got our first 2010 in the other day...........it doesnt help it was a freakin' shelby gt500 either lol..............they seriously were trying to get me to trade in.......I was kinda like, well, its not THAAATTT much............until they told me my note would be around 900 a month.....**** that.

BUT it is a fine ass car. Pictures do not do these cars justice. The rear end is not all that bad on the shelby, it actually looks pretty bad ass. I hated them until I actually sat in one and drove it.
