Which tire would be a little easier ride and a little longer lasting? Sumitomo HTR Z II or Nitto NT555? I live in New England, my stangs a DD and Ill need to make it through the winter with them but which will ride a little better in snow?
Thanks,

im guessing your getting them from AM... i got the sumitomos mounted on 17in bullits for my car, took it out one day last winter for 12 seconds and threw it back in the garage! our cars are not meant for snow... but I'm from minnesota so we get like 1-2 feet

just get some snow tires on cheap 15" wheels, then put 150lbs of bagged sand or salt in the trunk along with a shovel.

These are the basic steps to make any rear wheel drive car work better in the snow.

You want tall skinny tires with squirmy tread for snow. This is the opposite of a summer or even high performance all season tire.

The good news is you have a V6. It's a lot easier to reign in a smaller herd of horses when the going gets slippery!

I DD my car in the winter too. I wouldn't mess around with all seasons in the snow. Buy a set of steel wheels or cheap stock ones that fit your car and buy snow tires for them. I have Blizzaks and with 150lbs in the trunk I've never had any trouble in the snow, Still have to drive carefully though, the key is to really be gradual on the throttle , especially on hills and turns

Don't waste your money on a big brake kit. You can only stop as fast as your tires will let you; if you can lock up your tires (or trigger ABS if you have it) you will NOT see *any* improvement in stopping distance from bigger brakes. If you want a brake upgrade, flush your fluid, put in SS lines, and stop buying parts-house brake pads (they ALL suck, especially the lifetime warranty ones).

Bigger brakes exist for ONE reason: heat management. If you're driving hard enough to see brake fade (which is nigh impossible on the street), only then will you see benefit from bigger brakes.

Other than that, bigger brakes are actually detrimental. It's just a big mass of unsprung weight.

Make sure.. When you upgrade to 13" brakes.
You need bigger calipers too. Or the Disc's will gain you no stopping power.

Just get Slotted/Drilled with a set of Performance Brake pads.
That's probably more stopping power right there than a 6er would need, unless you're seriously going to race that sucker hard.
