ok so i tryed like 40 times to get the specs either my computer blows or moranas website blows lol i was thinking either the a spec or b spec.......current mods are mac cai....mac catback with flowmaster 40s welded in and some bullitt rims
doing a cam job is ALOT of work. You should wait to do heads, upper/lower intake and cam. If yur gonna rip your engine apart....knock everything down at once to save the the time and hassle of doin it again.
yupp your looking at about $100 just in gaskets
valve terrain-$200-300
cam-$200-400 for a new cam which is what you want
labor if you cannot do it your self-$500 easy
no one likes taking the heads out of our cars. the intakes arent bad
the heads are annoying though as well as removing the water pump timing cover etc. then timing the car and tuning the car.
if you can do the work yourself your easily looking at over $1000 for what 20rwhp since its a bolt on car. then add $300-450 for a tune if your lucky $200
YES you will need a tune for it and get timed
might as well replace it with ported heads and intakes get another 40-60hp
so with everything how much am i looking at....because my brother used to work at a performance shop where the installed everything from turbos to rims and tires and knows where i can get it on the dyno for cheap $$$ and we can do the work we have all the tools and we got a lift if we need the engine out
to do heads, upper/lower intake, and cam, doin it yourself? A stage 2+ power pak from SSM is 2500, and new head bolts, gaskets, etc. is another 285. So figure 3 grand plus a weekend.
if you cant do the work but its free for you then as already said
$200 per hour is usually what a dyno charges, or $350-450
$250-400 cam
rods, springs, rockers-$200-280
gaskets and head bolts(YES you need new headbolts)-$150-200
for the stage 2+ power pak (heads upper/lower intake, and cam) i believe is around 80hp. Maybe more if you already have upgrades done to it. If yur gonna DIY, itll prolly be cheaper than gettin a s/c...with a a close power gain. http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/pdf/SSM2007catrev3PowerPaks.pdf
so ssm stage 3 power pak would be a better choice than a s/c
because i would love to keep that old v6 n/a but i really just want some more horses behind my stang
the stage three is recommended more if you plan on doing some type of forced induction or nitrous....not so much running NA. also what year car are you looking to do this to?
280ish? No way with 9psi non-intercooled s/c on a pretty much stock engine. That would be about 330ish at then at the crank then. Thats like a 140ish gain. I dont think your numbers are correct.
omg do you wana go ahead and get owned againlets the list now KB, filter, long tubes, and vert vortechnow, VORTECH AGAIN!didnt i say to stop already youve been wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME
dude chill the **** out. All im sayin is where you got your numbers for. gettin up near 300rwhp is pretty fast. I dont think just a s/c makes it that easy.
Ford V6 Mustang Dyno Graph Database i belive its #34 10psi take away 10psi add long tubes to his set up and a throttle bodyyou'll have over 280rwhp</p>
wtf is up with this site, if you hit enter it doesnt put the sentence the next line down?
Thank you for posting that. I thought the vortech was a 90 hp mod to the crank.
