well, i've seen numbers ranging from 250-260rwhp, though i'm not sure, remember the compression goes up in 96-98 GT's with a PI swap so hp numbers will be higher then 99-04 GT's. i'm sure someone will chime in and give you solid numbers.

on my friends 97 pi swap we made 262rwhp w/no tune and was running 10.3 compression. installed cc262 cams then tuned and ran 307rwhp.

 

I have heard of people with a good tune getting up to 290rwhp.... I am in the process right now of the p.i swap on my 98 gt. I hope my numbers are that good!

 

Most pi car's run about 230-250rwhp. Being as the compression goes from 9.1:1 to 10.1:1 roughly each motors different. So I don't see why stock pi top end swap wouldn't make 260+.

It gains power due to increased compression and is usually at least 15 hp but the swap brings you up to premium fuel due to the cr increase.

No you don’t need a tune. Around 260-270 sounds about right to me. A good tune will boost you up a good bit though.

It’s really not that hard as long as you got a basic set of tools and know what’s what on your engine. It’s very straight forward swap, and if you plan on keepin the car it’s worth every penny!

i think alot of these numbers are a bit high.

My current numbers are 253/292 with a pi swap, LT's, O/R H and tune (wideband).

Remember that a bone stock pi engine is worth about 225 in a manual and less with an auto... the compression bump ma give you 10-15 hp but you will not be in the 250's with a pi swapped car with no tune and even with a dyno tune it will be a close.

I watched a buddy's 02 GT with 125k miles with JUST a bbk o/r x and flowmaster catback legit ALL stock otherwise pull 248/289. Then watched two other friends that day with 02/03 gt's with lt.'s full exhaust and some bolt on's do 247-249/288-292 and one 04 GT with shortys/full exhaust, comp 262's and full bolt ons pull 294/332
