Well figure I ask ahead of time and get opinions, From too many horror stories I decided to stay away from mmr. PLEASE DONT TURN THIS THREAD AROUND AND SAY HOW GOOD/BAD THEY ARE MMR IS NOT AN OPTION HERE LOL. Anyway I was thinking livernois, sean hyland motorsports, or the good ol' aluminator from ford racing? if not any of those 3 I'm all ears. I want a built shortblock/longblock(havn't decided yet) good for 500whp+ that isnt shitty or gonna have to be sent back a week later for x amount of quality/balance issues. Btw this is for my 01 gt auto.

All I'm gonna say is you are gonna have an 50/50 chance w/ anybody you use. Probably the best is find somebody near you so that if something does go they are right there to check it out.

SHHHHH...Do you smell that?

1. FRPP 2. Local engine machine shops 3. Proline or ModMax

I wouldnt put anything from SHM on my car.

I highly recommend phase 2 in stl. Todd knows his **** and it
Gets done right. I have personally seen their engines make 1100 rwhp and go 7.7 in the quarter

Proline is nice **** too but with phase 2 in my town and them being jut badass I
Can't pass that up. Granted I'm going back to school full
Time and won't be building an engine for a long time :(

I might go there when I start building my car whenever in the hell that will be lol.

Didn't know you were in STL, not too far from me! :rockon

RGR? Which RGR are you talking about? Rich Groh Racing? Rich Groh is a few miles from me and builds some nice modular motors I heard. Spoke with one guy who was using him for a turbo build. A few others have recommended him. I think you are referring to someone else though.

I would deff go somewhere within driving distance from you. it will make the build process easier and will make it A LOT easier if something does go wrong with it. I have had good luck with livernois, they tuned my last '95 when it was auto and it ran good. however you may have better luck from one of the smaller local shops in terms of customer satisfaction. the smaller shops have more to lose if you badmouth them. spread as many rumors/negative stories as you want about companies like mmr/livernois you're never going to hurt their business.

It won't be much, but eventually it will hurt them some. Just on this forum from all the MMR stuff going on with the guy from Qatar atleast 3 guys have changed their mind about going with MMR motors. I know that he also posted on Modularfords.com so if there are atleast another 3 there then that is 6 potential customers MMR lost.

Ill make it easy, send me 10k, ill send the wrong parts, take another 4 months to get it right, then send more wrong parts, then finally get you the right parts. After all this ill give you a sticker and a T shirt.

I've heard about some bad customer service once or twice, but nothing much about their motors. They are expensive. $4k + shipping for a shortblock. Unless you are really set on Livernois, you will probably be better off to get a a nice $1800 rotating assembly, get a used block for $200-$300 or reuse yours if you can, and have a local machine/engine shop do the block machining/balancing/assembling for ~ $1500.
