God I love this thread!
Thanks, youll love it even more when I turn over 800RWHP on an automatic and burn it up at the track Lol.

Lol so you are on the bandwagon of E85. I thought you were against it lol
I ran E-85 for a long time probably one of the first on here to run it, but since it got so scarce I decided to walk away from it... Since a friend of mine runs it in his 1965 mustang and has found 2 stations within 30 miles Ill retune on it. well just buy a 50 gallon drum at a time to make it easy on me.

I'm still waiting for idle clip with full exhaust
Sorry about that I have not forgotten you, I decided not to drive the car until we started tuning it so she's just sitting around. When I get it up and going ill hook you up.

I will tell you that she is quiet IMO at idle, But the moment you get into the Throttle a little it sounds like a beast.

Thanks just giving you hard time. I know you have been having some issues. I think I'm going to order cms stage 3 turbo cams.. What flex plate are you using. You were talking about getting a different converter will it still be a ucc one.

Im using a PA flex plate, I am going to try another brand this time around. Im not swapping the converter until after the Dyno and I run It at the track so I can se whether or not I just wasted a **** ton of money again.

Oh my Goodness can I not stop buying stuff already? picked this 1992 Ford Ranger up yesterday its getting a full 2V drivetrain from the front to the rear. My son bought it from a friend and it had a blown head gasket motor ETC since he bought a new Car I bought this for another little project.

FYI Tuning Starts Tuesday on my Turbo 2V.

Alright guys which Front shocks do I need to buy? so far I have tried Strange, and Lakewood and neither of them are cutting it... Since I no longer have a front sway bar I need something with some extra stability.. I have UPR coil overs in the front.

Discussion starter · #2,110 ·
The way the exhaust is ran there is absolutely no way to utilize the Sway bar. so im going to need to make up for it with the quality of the front shocks and coil overs...

What don't you like about your current shocks? I didn't notice any difference with the sway bar. In fact mine was noticeably better without. I'm running strange 10ways and upr Coilovers. Maybe your spring is too soft?

They bottom out ALOT, not that im driving the car right now, but when I was they bottomed out, and if yo go around a corner hard they bottomed out in the corner too.

I have Eibach 14175 Springs on UPR coil over and 90/10 lakewoods

I tried the strange adjustable and they were bottoming out too, and one of them just all the sudden died on me totally. what spring are you using im using a 14" 175# spring according to the part number I have.

I'm using the exact same spring. Maybe the weight reduction is saving me? I've got a teskid as well. Between everything I've probably taken 200lbs or so off the front

Maybe more now that i think about it

SSG, you look pretty low in front so your strut might have been running out of travel causing the bottoming out, a lot of guys with lowered 99-04's run the 84-93 Strange strut since its shorter, its part SM6001EM, see the link below, they list it for lowered 99-04's:

Ford Bolt-In Shocks / Struts - Shocks / Struts / Springs - Drag Race

Don't worry, they will rattle just as much as the 99-04 Strange struts, mine sound like I left the caliper bolts totally loose.

I lost quit a bit of weight as well when I swapped to a Chrome molley K member and a Arms. I was looking at the 12-250 kit but I don't want any bottoming out/ Maybe ill try another set of the Strange perhaps I had a bad pair..

I have been reading about running a fox body style shock and it would not bottom out. Ill give this a try and see how it goes. Thanks

You should start another build thread for this lol. I have a old ranger that is clean and would like to do this swap with left over parts from my GT lol

Ahhh that explains it. I'm running fox lengths. That's the answer. I never thought to ask you which you were running.
