Scott with his "kid" comment pretty much gives me the reason to respond no more. I am not so sure how much some of you are involved with playing games but "kid" dished out by someone that is probably 20 their self and think theyre in some sort of elite group or it is meant in a deregulatory term.

Im only here to be Pates friend and put pics of the work I do/have done for him on here, but at the same time I wont stand for an idiot that is about clueless about these cars but thinks he knows something special.

Hes one of a couple that has actually seen my car in person and knows how much money and time i have in it which is why he gets upset... Ive busted my ass in between being gone for long stretches at a time for work. I have held back some of the results until this new converter goes in. Ill let the cat out of the bag very shortly.
This exactly.

I don't care if you have the fastest car, the prettiest, car, the ugliest, car of whatever you want to do. I respect everyone's goals for what they want to do with their car.

I just find it interesting as to how someone that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground and wants to call people "kid" think they know a whole lot and have some killer race car they've been working on for how many years now. Perhaps its time to sell the single wide and invest it in your dreams?

Since were all giving opinions about this relationship can I add mine?

Scott is a kid that has ambition and will but never does follow through due to his financial setbacks, and by his post of

"I'm not fighting. Just asking questions. He's mad he's still an 11 second car with 700hp. I would be too though."

How are you not busting a guys balls with a comment like that? You don't know pate, you don't know if hes mad or not, and I can guarantee you he is not "mad" because he has a 700hp 11 second car as you say. He has built his car for a purpose, and while it may not be a purpose you can agree with you should let it be.

On the other hand. Since your jack stand warrior super intake factory short block is so ****ing fast I believe Pate has offered you come on over to TN sometime, and that is the last I will say. The internet and a foolish kid isn't worth the time and hassle

We all have different opinions but as far as a true street class. Something that can run in nmra true street . Afterall there is no true limits when it comes to a "true street car".

There will never be an exact definition for "true street" car.
Pate's car is a legal street car in his state. Granted some other states would not consider it legal. He has all of the factory safety features still in place and working. The only thing I know of that would rule it illegal is running no catalytic converters. I guess that would mean my car isn't a street car either. I have seen and ridden in his car and its one quick son of a bitch. We crawled up on another very and when we went by i thought they would **** their pants. I have no ill will towards you Scott and hope your car turns out how you want it. I know how Pate's will turn out because he is one meticulous guy.

Could you please tell me more about how Pates car is legal in the state he lives in? That's crazy how he can do that. I have been trying to do it myself but haven't had much luck. What state does he even live in?

No emissions testing in TN. Is that what you are having issues with in your state? Not sure what state you live in or what you are considering non legal.

I guess you are all about insults then. Calling someone ignorant for no reason. I had read the post about the bumper being painted but did not realize that was you. You probably know Pate's car better than me. Would you consider it a street legal car in TN?

I'm not on here to be a smart ass, ridicule or belittle anyone. I just try to learn, share and join in on some conversations. Pate is a friend of mine so I try to follow his thread and comment on occasion.

Would Circle D not guarantee their converters for that much power? Sorry if you have mentioned it already, this thread moves faster than I can keep track of.

Everyone that I have talked to says that most off the shelf converters are good for locking up at WOT up to 700rwhp or so. You might be able to get a custom one that can hold more, but rotating mass may become a problem at that point.

If you can't find one that can lockup with as much power as you are making, you might be able to just grab a single disk converter and only lock it up when you are cruising. A single disk would reduce rotating mass I would think, and would allow you to maintain your driving manners. As long as you didn't get a super loose converter, not locking up at WOT won't be too noticeable. Oddly enough, my car runs faster times at the track with my converter unlocked because of my rev-happy combo.

Keep us posted on which brand you decide to go with.

A circle d triple disc should be able to hold lock up at wot but I wouldn't promise anything. I just sold my converter Pate. Would have gave you a great deal since you're closer to me. Now I gotta ship it to Florida...

Ya just to bring a little humor back in here I was wanting to see if you knew the difference between a motorcycle and a converter.

Ive gotta find one to hold down what i am making because i want to lock up in third at WOT if i chose to take a trip to the track.. Precision said they could guarantee one to hold around 900RWHP and put a warranty behind it on a triple disc clutch.

Ya just to bring a little humor back in here I was wanting to see if you knew the difference between a motorcycle and a converter.

I bought one of dirty dogs top line converter and also had the pleasure of seeing it get cut open to be restalled at UCC. There was no tigging or brazing in side the converter and with only about 500 miles and 12 1/8 mile passes there were already fins bent inside the converter

SSG. if you haven't spoken with Chris at Circle D its worth a call to go over your combo with him to see what converter he would recommend but as you probably already know PI makes great locking converters also (KB recommends them) so you can't go wrong with either one.

You'll see a big difference on the dyno with the locking converter (probably 10%) but make sure to try locked and unlocked at the strip (with datalogs if you can and send copies to me, the logaholic).

Some cars go quicker locked but some go quicker unlocked, it turns out throwing in the effects of shifting ,the acceleration and boost/spooling curves make the locked/unlocked decision not as clear as one would think it is.

On my car I go quickest with no locking after the 1-2 shift and pretty delayed locking in 3rd, not until the RPM is around 5,500.
