Here in VA the car events have a nice variety

- 1/4 and 1/8th mile within a hour of anywhere
- 4 Different AutoX locations
- Drift Events

They finally started doing the drift thing this year, me and a few friends figured what the hell why not give it a try.

RJ - Turbo C4
Me - 88 GT
Mike - 383 LT1 RX7
AJ - Twin Turbo 350z

Our first mistake was putting small tires on the rear, I went with some dryrotted 215's and put 45PSI in them :) Our goal was LOTS OF SMOKE and finally a chance to do LEGAL donuts haha.

Heres a video from the 1st drift event we had here, before my car was painted and what not.

Foxbody NOT Drifting - Video

AJ with the 350Z actually got the hang of it and ended up being really good .... showing up alot of the so called "drifters" that were out for the event, not all of them .... but a good majority

i drift in my v6 all the time. i live in Ohio to. hey at least you have a drag strip. the only drag strip close to me is only 1/8 mile:(
so where at in Ohio do you live? im in Portsmouth.
I live close to Marietta/Belpre Ohio. I know what you mean.... no tracks around close.

Drifting in a mustang is nothing new as most of you know. In Akron you wont have much, but you could travel to pittsburgh which i dont think is that far.

I have some friends up that way that goto a lot of events at Beaver Run.

Also we used to go up to Mid-Ohio for the USDrift event once a year, but they no longer have them up there with the nationals.

try WheretoDrift.com - The best place to find information on local events! and message some of the areas close to you about where to go.

If you have that hard of a time you can email me. I know when i started i had to travel at least 3 hours to get to any drift events(04/05). So traveling is something youll have to consider im sure.

if ur gonna put out 3-5g's out on setting up the mustang to DRIFT i recommend u just get a 240sx or corolla ae86....

why? well i dont think u want to wreck ur daily driver and tires going out extremely fast while the 240sx tires will be cheaper and all...

What is the deal with all these newbs bring back from the dead old threads?!?
Well, there's two options. They can bump an ancient thread, or they can start a new one that's exactly the same as the 1,700 that came before it.

Don't know about you, but I prefer they bump the old ones, provided they have something to actually contribute.

Unless they're just post-whoring...

i think that was a reference to me and you ansewred your own question...ummmm newbie ,reading old threads so i can try to answer my own question so i dont get people being a smart ass to me when i ask...and since i am new to forum altogether i never noticed the date so i was completely unaware how old it was...does that answer you question black bullet....and what exactly is there to gain by post whoring
