Looking at my next mod, most likely FLSFC.. but I've heard some complaints; only from people outside of mustang drivers..

So for a daily driver weekend 'racer' is there anything I'm gonna notice on the negative side of putting them in?

not really, specially with being a vert. you should have not problems

No lol! Good mod on anybody. And for us verts, if you are putting down power it prevents tweaking of the door alignment. With all my suspension mods i love driving my car on the street. No, negative aspect for me! Unless you think handling is a bad thing :D

There are lots of downfalls

The car is going to handle better
The car is going to launch straighter
The car is not going to sag in the middle
You won't put a permanent tweak in the chassis from launching

Oh wait.... those aren't downfalls....

Lol, seriously the only downfall I've ever heard of is that you can't run regular side exhaust with them. Big whoop.

Just welded mine in yesterday Yelo; and holy hell what a difference :rockon

SWEET guys, thanks.. I thought it would be a win, talked to some guys this weekend driving other cars that didn't like them and removed them, something about making the car 'chatter' or be too stiff.. I dunno..

I'll have to schedule the install.. :)

Lefty, you do yours yourself or CJP?

There're three negative side effects that I'm aware of:

-weight; you are adding more mass to the car. It's in about the best place you can add it (low, centered, sprung), but it's still extra weight.

-clearance; Especially for side exhaust.

-Classing; if you race, especially SCCA autocross, SFCs may be illegal or may change your classing.

Yeah, my 4.10s already put me in SM, so I might as well do FLSFC and Rear LCAs.. besides with my 75 sec runs I'm not in danger of beating anyone !

I did them myself.
How much to do mine? ;)

Never heard anyone complain about me being to stiff. I mean my car being to stiff.

Seriously though, what did the people who complain drive? Did they have anymore complaints?

That chatter they were hearing was probably the v-tec malfunctioning and letting the valves smack off the pistons :yes hahaha

hah the only complaint i could even POSSIBLY imagine any one would have about FLSFC is that it makes your car stiffer and the ride a bit less comfortable but i dont even think that it does so....GET EM!!!! :yes

Funny part about that, I would say it made the ride quality in both the Cobra and the 5.0 *better* on bad pavement, as it made the impact get absorbed by the springs (which are damped), rather than the chassis (which is not). Much more composed.

Depends on what type of SFCs you get. Something like MM FLSC will be no cutting required.

What about install. I heard that you have to cut part of the frame to weld them in?
Not the MM ones. All I did was hold them up there. Mark where I was going to weld. Grind off the undercoating where I marked so it's bare metal. Tacked the subframes in place; then went through and finished the welds.
