As the title says, should a roots type blower designed for a 96 2v motor fit on to a 2000 2v motor?

Sorry, but if you actually look at that link you'll see that the superchargers are broken out from 96-98 and 99-04. The head design is different between the two generations, so I don't see the earlier charger working on later heads.

What supercharger were you looking at?

idk for sure but could u call and order a KB for a NPI?

But yeah I cant see a NPI to PI or PI to NPI either.

well KB its roots its a twin screw
A KB is a twin screw, not a roots. Big difference. Twin screws compress air internally and roots compresses externally, causing it to be much less dense and less efficient. A roots blower will make less power vs a twin screw at the same power level.

EDIT: Scott I'm sure you know this and it's just a typo, but I figured I'd lay it out for anyone else reading along

i ment isn't a roots but twin screw...my badz. But thanks for clearing it up for others bro!
Yeah your sentence seemed a little screwy so I figured it was just a typo. If it were baker though, I'd say he just didn't know **** :shiftyeyes

thanks. you're right. fixed. :yes
Lol, nice. Good work finding the link in the first place though!

Thanks for all the responses. The blower in question is a roush product, but is different from the others i have seen before. I picked it up, along with some other parts, for basically nothing. The car I am looking to use this in I bought for the motor. With the motor pulled I have the body sitting here and am looking to put something in there that is as fast and inexpensive as possible without being terribly unreliable. Before anyone gets into the "pick 2 because you cant have all 3" speech, I'm just looking for the best combination of the 3. What combination would work with the blower I have? NPI motor, truck engine (they dont have PI heads right?), anything else? also I have a set of 98 cobra heads w/o cams and a set of 03-04 termi heads laying around the garage... A buddy of mine has the a ported termi blower for sale... any input on a possible combination?
thanks

I had a bit of a typo on that post, i have a set of 98 cobra heads and 03 termi cams. I know the easton blower would be the best power option, but for this build im more concerned with budget. Trying to do it as inexpensively as possible and the 4v heads w an eaton blower would require a stout (ie expensive) shortblock...

yes indeed, that would be it. so i guess ill scratch that off the list for use of this project, unless i put in a 96-98 4.6 i guess. Will it kit on any other 4.6s? say a pickup or a crown vic? always have wanted to build up a stout cop car :3gears

idk for sure but could u call and order a KB for a NPI?
Nope, I tried that a few years ago. They used to make a KB Twin screw for the 96-98 but stopped production on it due to the engine failures resulting from it's use. They state you can use the 99-04 model if you use P.I. heads, but you would really need to rebuild your shortblock first due to the higher compression resulting from the p.i. swap.

It will only go on a Non PI 4.6

Thats the supercharger that should be coming in for me on thursday.

Aslong as it is a Non pi 4.6 it will bolt right on for the most part. There not really good for high boost applications...there just decent blowers for the price

also 97S281, yes there are non intercooled. But pulleyd (just like any other supercharger) they can make more boost. But you have to deal with more heat (just like any other supercharger). So meth injection is the only way to go with them.
