I just went and picked up paint to repaint my roof, pillars and trunk. Forgot jb weld to shave my Ford emblem and once I started trying to take off some of the interior panels to remove the exterior pillars I found out I don't have a large enough hex key to remove the seat belts. I was all ready for a long night of painting and now it's gonna have to wait because I don't want to go back to the store

Decided to take my rocker stripes off.

And I took a pic while the Mustang lettering was still on, just looked kind of cool to me

I went over the areas where the vinyl was with some GooGone but I think I'm going to have to clay bar it to get all the adhesive off.

Get me some jb weld and a big ass hex key. I want to get started on my black roof :p
Dont use a hex key, its much easier to buy a socket with a hex adapter in it. I did both my seatbelts and those bolts are really tight, having a wrench made it a lot less of a hassle.

Oh, and today I painted my CAI gloss black instead of the chrome it came in from AM. Less scratched and less rusty, and just looks a lot more professional now.

I've really been thinking about taking mine off. Feel like my car might look alot cleaner without them.

McQueen what did you use to take your rocker stripe off? I want to know if our methods were the same. I bet mine was more hazardous to the paint if I messed up. Seems how I put lacquer thinner on my car without damaging anything lmao. :p

Also I like just the word mustang there with no stripe. Only because your car is white and the letters are black. I don't think any other color combo of that would look so right to me. Except for torch red and black.

EDIT: just saw the second part of your post... Laquer thinner on the area will work and not damage your paint. Trust me on that.

I ordered some ball joints, pony for my grill, black door cups with tabs intact and pony center caps for my wheels (got SVT caps right now)

and yeah use the torx sockets.. I had a hex key and couldnt get enough torque on the ones under the rear seats. Those sockets are ba. Harbor freight has some pittsburgh brand ones for cheap. And they are durable as ****

I washed my car... Again. This time I parked away from the pollen. I need to find places to take new updated pictures of my car though.
I know what you mean. I look at my sig and I'm like "that's not my car... :shiftyeyes"

I have a little steamer that I'm going to use to remove the tint from my windows. I just used that to reactivate the adhesive on the vinyl and peeled it off. You could use a heat gun or a hair drier and it should work as well :dunno

Looks good so far McQueen... Let's see the whole car with the stripes off!
Lol it's pouring rain today, I'll get some pics when it clears up.
