that new megasqirt looks badass. not all of us have a dyno at work, and show me one fox owner that has started into modding their car and built a combo and said '' well thats it, im never going to change a thing again''. also with me it would be just another cool and fun skill to lern for a D.I.Y. kinda guy like me. self tunning my own car would give me a sense of pride much like the vert top install i'm curently undetaking. you can also factor in that you woint need a spendy M.A.F. anymore so you can knock off a couple hundred bucks off that price as you woint be needing that new proflow m.a.f.,and yes it does have a nitrios/boost timing retard built in. so you can run advanced timing when your just crusing around, and when you hit that GO BABY GO button it'll automaticly pull timing out. thats the ****.

Indeed it does. if you think thats cool, look at this http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/ms3pro-standalone-ecu-with-839-wiring-harness-p-538.html. Now you aren't limited by your wiring harness.

I'm not smart enough for half this stuff, possibly because I never reasearched any of it. Is there a MegaSquirt booklet for dummies? Like what all the functions and features are in Layman Terms and what exactly this thing will do for me that's better than a stock computer with tune. (Obviously tuning yourself is gratifying and potentially money saving if you don't look at the initial cost of equiptment or are constantly changing things trying to improve, where as retunes will add up in cost.) That's the kind of thing I would be interested in if this were to be a future purchase of mine. If I don't understand the terminology, I get frustrated because I feel 'dumbed down' and I may be missing out on a great product that could be easier to use than it is to read. Follow me? The PNP is more what I'm referring to, as was Cleangtvert.

FastStnag91Lx, Ultimately the decision to purchase is up to you, and the decision which unit is also up to you. The main thing we try and cater to is what you have plans for in the future. Sure, you want to do something now but by the time you get any ecu, those dreams and or plans for your car might have changed.

I know it can be daunting. When you look at it at face value, it seems like rocket science or brain surgery. After all is said and done and you look at the finished product, not only do you know exactly what it takes to run the engine, you realize that what you did is yours. All yours. Then it hits you like a ton of bricks. Perspective has been gained on what to do next time you have to do such a thing.

I was in your same boat 7 years ago. Look where i am now. No one held my hand and i hardly understood wiring. Now i know exactly what does what and how it does what it needs to do.

You can always send me a PM and i will do everything i can to help you out.
