When It gets back I will do another correction. I hope they use a fender cover if they open up the hood.

I love how a flat 4 sounds BUT for the same cost as an STI you can get a VW R32 which is a v6 BUT still awd, same size car, same power output stock and sounds better IMO.

No. Best sounding 4 banger is the srt4 neon

Also awd is better in most ways, especially winter. . . Don't explode your transfer case, lol. . . It's not that hard.

i have to disagree. The fact that its a neon means its not a contender haha.
:lmao

After driving an r32, evo 8, 2006 sti I would still take the r32 without blinking an eye. Most comfortable, most room for more power before you need to tear open your engine and the exhaust sounds like a full blown race car stock. . . Most people put a blower on them. That'd be my route.

Just got done detailing it

I used to have an 01 vr6 GTI, they almost sound like 350z/g35 with exhaust, i do miss that car sometimes...for daily purposes.

Listen to me though, when VWs break.....$$$$$$$ lol Thats why i shy away from them now, but deep down i have a soft spot for vw/audi.

At least the srt4 sounds like a mini cammed v8. Yeah, the one at autozone i heard sounded nothing like a 4 banger

Did you here it drive? Thats where they go all rice... and fail lol.

I myself love the subi's sounds. A member at the gym I'm at here in indiana had his sti stolen from a parking lot over night. He didn't want to drive under the influence so he left it. Remind me not to buy one. Ps I experimented with wet sanding today. A cyan pad and 34 with the orange pad and 36 took care of 3000 grit scratches no problem. and water spots were removed. I'm pretty pleased actually. If I wasn't lazy I'd do a write up with pics but that's what shook and modded are for :lol

36 will probably take out 3k grit with a heavy pad.

Im gonna mess around with CG polishes on my rotary soon, the CG polishes are kind of oilier than most so i think itll do well with the rotary where lube is essential to the easy of control

When i correct my mach 1, im probably gonna do it with my flex using v36 on a green pad followed by either 38 on blue or SF4500 on blue.

Also gonna ship off my broken GG tomorrow for the replacement.

I also just found out that you can buy a used Ferarri 355 for like 40-50k.....ive always been a fan of the 355 and that is a killer price for a really cool oldskool exotic. I kinda want one now haha

Menzerna Fg400 on green followed by sf4500 on blue via flex rotary.

Ipa wipedown and hologram free!!

I looked into buying one last summer. Got to test drive two and they are great cars but I'd want to drive it too much. The maintenance is crazy expensive. $4k for a brake job and over $20,000 for the engine out 20k mile service. One thing to be able to afford the car and it's another to be able to afford to dive it lol

I owned a 1.8 Turbo'd Jetta for 8 1/2 years and was pushing 24 lbs boost daily through the stock turbo (I put over 40k miles on that setup). Only thing that ever failed was the waterpump (and coil packs but they were under recall). Replace all the stuff yourself and it's not really anymore expensive than an american car. Same with Audi just gotta find the right sites. People think they are so expensive to fix because they are German but any car is expensive to fix when you take it to a shop and they see a foreign badge on it. . . Not because it's more difficult but because generally shop owners/workers are there to rip people off.

The vr6 and the r32's have a different exhaust setup completely and different engines even though they are still VW's 6 cylinders. The vr6 is 2.8l and the r32 is 3.2l (go figure lol). The cool thing is the r32's exhaust was designed specifically and only for that car. They only made them in 2004 and 2008. Very cool vehicles and they numbered each one.

srt4's sound like honda's with real exhausts on them . . . If that's a thing.

SOME parts are cheap, but alot of the parts are really exspensive, on my vr6 just the plug wires were insanely pricey, and thier are alot of parts that are only available from vw. Im not saying VWs arent reliable, but when they break they are, on average, more exspensive to fix than your average car, well it was on my vr6 anyway lol, idk about the 1.8s and 2.0ts

Freakin all the okder VW waterpumps were ****, the plastic impeller was....plastic, lol, nuf said

Tbh the mach 1 is a bit pricey too because of the bigger brakes and stuff but not too bad.

The main difference between the vr6 and r32 is the added displacment and the r32 has a 24v setup. They sound pretty similar exhaust wise tho.

What kind of power did u make on 24lbs?

Hell yes. Any rubbing from jeans or cover alls will scratch or mar the paint, just depends on how hard you rub up against the car but trust me I've scratched my car not using fender covers.

Very nice, is that the mach?

Yea thats my decklid, i check it in the sun this morning, probably the most level my paint as ever been, im starting to believe that rotaries can product a better result- or more level paint.

I wouldnt but that until i made supervisor at work, in which case i could probably handle the maintenance- except for the engine bit.

TBH id rather have a 800hp mustang haha.

You can buy OEM and OE VW parts on ECStuning (including all the crazy small rubber hoses and connectors that vw dealers say "only from us"). I went through that exact same problem for a while until I found them. That site in kinda like the American Muscle mixed with Late model restoration for these cars lol.

Yes sir they were. I replaced mine with a metal fin pump. It went out at 104k, after finding out it was plastic I was surprised it lasted that long.

Yeah any specialty vehicle tends to be a tad more expensive than it's mass produced counter part but most specialty vehicles are special enough to make it worth it ;)

They literally engineered and entirely different exhaust setup for that car/engine. The r32 sounds like a race car and the best part is, it sounds like that stock.

Also the r32 has bigger bore, longer stroke, and higher compression as well.

It only put about 225 down to the wheels but that's not bad since stock it came with 150~ to the wheels (180 at the crank). I got lucky and had the 2002 1.8T with an AWP ecu which responded the best to mods and was the first year they added like 30 hp to them from the previous year.

I dont even know what I would do with an 800 hp mustang! lol. For me I really want a 500 rwhp mustang. That would be about perfect (at least it is in my mind lol).

Im very familiar with ECS tuning, i purchased many parts from them when i had my VW, including the stupid shift linkage connectors that were made of plastic.

A good example is the spark plugs for a vr6. CHEAPEST aftermarket ones ECS carried are around 90 bucks....kind of a lot for 6 plug wires. Thats what i mean by more expensive lol.

In fact, i had a hose go bad and ECS did not have it (at the time) went to the dealer (only place to find it) for the 5" long hose it was 60 something dollars, lol.

i know exactly what id do with an 800hp mustang....drive it all the time lol.
