figured I would just ask here instead of making a new thread. Ive got my motor torn apart and have exposed some parts of the engine bay that I want to clean. Ive had good results using a otc apc from a local place and wiping down, ive tried spraying it on and then rinsing with water but it doesnt seem to help much in the places i cant reach to wipe.

whats the best way to clean dirt and dust out of the engine bay panels?

thanks guys

My friend brought his clients 1963 Jag by my workplace today, freakin cool car. Im meeting him tomorrow to give him some cars. He also showed his client my website and said he liked it....

His client has a WAREHOUSE of cars...lol Im hoping this turns into something.

Kerosene works great for that

That and this stuff

Gunk
anything more water based, or wont make a big foamy mess lol.

Its illegal to wash your car anywhere but a carwash here because the street drains go into a river that feeds our drinking water.

ideally i need something I can spray on a little at a time and rinse away with a spray bottle of water the the garage,

Sorry bro^

On a non-detailing related note. My puppy has a consultation appointment at a professional training center on the 14th. A few sessions followed with ongoing home training will yield an insanely well trained dog. I plan on teaching her to sit, stand, down, fetch, out, heel, back up, bark, place....and attack on command of course lol. Plus some other things eventually.

Also means buying a 225 dollar collar haha. Totally worth it tho.

:lol luckily for me, the "detail shop" down the street had to close temporarily due to too many complaints. I :lmao when I heard that

Dude, don't pay to do that. I taught my dog all of that on my own and some more. It's not hard, just takes patience

See, I hate having such a young audience.. people that dont have careers, they have jobs. So they're stingy with money. I say $50 for the wash, clay, wax, (which is like $30 less than anywhere else) and they flip out like omg thats so much money, then i mention that polishing i'm starting at $200 for 1-step and they are like how can you charge that much? I have to explain the process in total is like an 8-hour thing. and then they shut up and say oh, well it's not worth it still... -__-

This works very efficiently. And im no dog trainer. Im not "buying" into a gimmick, no worries, its a legit place.

I am going to be doing most of the training, but im using their collar system because it works extremely well via "attention" training.

I watched a crapload of videos on these guys. I watched them take a dangerously aggresive 6 year old pitbull and inside of an hour he takes the muzzle off, is heeling, coming, and siting.....these guys are freakin pros. Obviously ongoing training is required, but the training is for me as much as it is for the dog. Like i said, im no dog trainer.

I have a friend who has a Cane Corso that is trained VERY well, so before i spend money on training i am going to talk to him. The place i am considering going to has very widely mixed reviews. Either people love them or hate them... so idk at this point.

yea your cheap bro. They just dont know it haha. My 1 steps START in the 300-350 range.

I'm cheap because of the crowd im selling to.. i know i'm cheap lol. 7+ hours for $200 not to mention the amount of product used lol. They are annoyingly ignorant. I quoted a girl $400 for a 2-3 step on her black elantra, but idk if she wants to spend that, but she's definitely interested in atleast the wash and wax and clay next semester lol.

I feel bad for you man. Thats why i have the "Detailing 101" Section on my website. So the customer can see what is involved and why it is expensive.

Well kids at 18 arent going to pay for that anyways, my polish jobs are MOSTLY going to be any adults I know lol. i know a few kids that would be willing to drop the money on the polish, but whatever lol. better than zero money right? still better than minimum wage and i love seeing results!

You gotta look at the car man. Look for the young people who have nicer cars that are swirled out. Chase that 1 step, itll be hard to get a 2-3 step correction from anyone working part time.

yeah, trust me I try. But then again most of my friends don't have nicer cars... lol. Next semester i'll be doing a booth at our bullmarket on wednesdays hopefully with a black hood split in 3 to show people what I can actually do with 1-step, full correction, and just washed and sealed. Should make for a great selling point and i'll have my business cards made to hand out.

This is all after i talk to the university about letting me use the hoses in the garages though.. i almost got arrested last time lol

What's the collar called? I did a very similar training program with my dog... He's a completely different pet now. It's amazing.
