I believe Phil has told us on this forum personally that it can be used as a stand alone sealant, a topper on sealant, a topper on top of wax, or a sealant before a wax. Don't quote me on that but as far as I know it can be used for all those functions. I want to see how it does on wheels.

Where could i fit that amazingly easy to use stuff in with wax and/or sealant!?

I personally plan on getting some and probably topping it with wax.

It was created to be a topper for sealants/coatings that are more prone to spotting. The super hydrophibic properties help avoid spotting. And its so durable that it can be used as a stand alone.

+1 the stuff is supposed to look really good too.

I want to do SPNS topped with celeste. Talk about protection and look lol

It would look crazy on the yota. You need to put that little corolla in ur sig lol.

Lol, probably not. The mach will probably be there for a while. lol

Would you use it on interiors? Is it comparable to megs?
No, i wouldnt use it on interiors, id stick with an APC who instructions clearly state that its interior safe. APC+ is what i use on interiors, that and Cockpit Premium by 1z

Just got some new stuff in

hard candy is like butter and smells really good...Soul has the consistency of glasur with the smell of a clean soap...Tripple has a very strong chemical smell...Rubbish boys has a chemical smell as well...

SMAT= Super Micro Abrasive Technology.

SMAT compounds/polishes work using VERY tiny abrasives that do not diminish or get smaller as you polish. Essentially, you can do 1 pass or 6 passes but the product doesnt "break down" like a DAT (Deminishing Abrasive Tech). The product doesnt break down, but it does become loaded with abraded paint that comes off of the car and some soaks into the pad, so they do have a working "time"- But with SMAT, you dont have to work the product to a certain point in order to achieve a certain finish, it has more to do with speed and pressure. SMAT abrasives are able to cut and finish really well because the abrasives are so small, but there are a ton of them. They are also very versatile according to the pad.

DAT compounds/polishes, like FG400, have abrasives that start out larger and diminish in size and cut less as you polish. So FG400 starts off cutting deeper at first and as you polish, the abrasives get smaller and refine the finish as they diminish.

2 different and good ways to accomplish the same result.

TBH im more familiar with DATs but M101 and HD polish are my new favorite combo and work SUPER well and are SMAT.

Thats the differences really, do some googling to find out more about the pros and cons of each. I dont think you can really say one is "better" than the other, i think it comes down moreso to what you prefer through experience using both.

I actually have M101 and FG400, so i think a cool comparison would be those 2 on an orange/green pad comparing the cut and finishing abilities. I think my flex's forced rotation will also be a good tool to use for the test because there is less of a variable in technique because the machines movement is fixed. As long as i can duplicate speed and pressure, itll be a great test.
Thanks for that info, had no idea. Do you think that being a smat abrasive that its less important to turn the speed down on the 4th or 5th pass to help it finish? What would you suggest about arm speed, pressure, and speed of machine to work best with HD polish?
Stevey read up well on SMAT and DAT as its a key to learning how to get the best detail results for your time and money...It plays a key role in EVERYTHING you do with pads, product, speed, work time and etc

I would say, very generally speaking, that SMAT products are a bit more sensitive to pressure/speed of DA polishing than DAT are. Everything obviously depends on the product brand and model but because the abrasives dont diminish, but the cut of the polish lessens mostly do to the introduction of abraded paint from polishing as you work the product. Of course, the kind of paint type and many other factors play into results too lol.

With the proper technique, it makes them super versatile and useful with the ability to push the cutting and finishing abilities to the max.

Cant go wrong with either but there are probably situations where one or the other is more appropriate. Its one of those subjects that will never die on any forum, smat vs dat. BOTH is what i say, be prepared haha.

Long time no see guys!

Anyone try out any new Airfresheners from CG? Thinking of picking up Chuy bubblegum from DC.

It's a shame duragloss isn't there anymore. I was going to pick a gallon up to use for now on.

Oh and why I'm here.. platinum XXR 531 or Black Chrome Saleens?

GOOD LUCK finding xxr531s in our size. They are an amazing looking wheel and id get them 100x before saleens but finding an 18x10 in the things seems fairly difficult. You may be able to find the Platinum easier than say, silver, which is what i was trying to get. Try Ebay too, they seem to be pretty popular on there.

If you can find the proper size and offset, i say go with the 531s for sure.

Chris do you have a link to any good reads on smat vs. Dat? I'm always trying to learn as much as possible and lately I've been practicing a lot with my machine.
Just google smat vs dat. But youre not going to find a definitive answer most likely, just random opinions and claims regarding specific situations where one or the other worked better.

I think you MAY find that alot people like SMAT more for compounding and DAT for polishing generally speaking. But both can be done with both IME.

Why not have both.

Like DA vs Rotary...why do we have to choose!!! lol just be broke and have both, thats what i say lol.

Would you guys be upset if i bought something other than a mustang? lol

Thanks Vader :)

ModdedMach - The 18x9.5 and 18x11 20mm offsets fit our cars and sit flush at those offsets. I was definitely thinking these, might remove my spring isolators if it doesn't look right. After those H&R super sports I still could go a little lower.

So a couple weeks ago I finally got around to M105'ing the car.. looks great.. depth really came back and the major defects came out. I was surprised as to how many of the defects actually came out with just m105. However, I learned how much of a bear m105 is with removal and dusting. Had to go back and redo some areas because of this.

This is right after the polishing, no LSP
