Hey guys so I'm getting together my v2 a trim supercharger and am confused about blow off valves. I will be running a cx racing intercooler and figured it would be best to run a blow through set up. I will be using my ba 2600 sct maf. What blow off valve do I need? I read about different springs and sizes and I am confused by it all. I hope to be running 8-10psi. The cx racing intercooler comes with a bov but I read that it's junk. Trying to keep this on a college student budget so any recommendations for bov's would be greatly appreciated !

Wow 100$ brand new? That's a good deal. Any issues with it? Would it make a difference running it in a supercharger set up??

Nope comes with 2 springs one for turbo other for supercharger. Sounds great they stand behind it 100% and they have never had one returned. Give thema call they will put your mind at rest.

STOP

Before you go and buy a cheap ass BOV search the forums and youll find nothing but trouble on a supercharged Application. You can get away with it a little better with a Turbo but not a blower.

Spend the money Get a Tial 50MM/ Procharger or quality proven product or youll be starting another thread soon about BOV FLUTTER!!!

I have personally compared the tial, RPS and cheap Chinese BOV that comes with the on3 kit . the tial Rps are identical. The on3 is totally junk. You guys are missing something important he said on a budget. I personally can afford to buy any bov I want and went with RPS.

If I were to find a deal on a used tial 50mm, do I need a special spring for it for my application? How does that work?

I'm running a ProCharger ProFlow but I believe you are suppose to run a 3 lb spring on a Tial for supercharged applications. Vacuum holds the BOV open. The spring is only there to start closing the BOV as vacuum approaches zero. Boost then holds the BOV closed. When you let off the throttle the motor instantly goes back to vacuum and the BOV opens preventing compressor surge. The butterfly valve in the throttle body and the butterfly valve in the BOV work in opposite directions. When one is closed the other is open.

If you put a heavier spring on the BOV then it closes too early. The butterfly valve in the throttle body is not open enough to accept all the air. That causes a slight compressor surge because the air has nowhere to go but back into the head unit.

im running the tial q, havn't had any flutter issues other than when I was tapped into a small vac line, and it sounds nasty, definitely seemed loud at first now I barely notice it, also whatever you end up choosing make sure to use a good solid vac line something that doesn't collapse easy and tie into a good vac source I drilled and tapped a brass fitting into my plenum.

Hey guys, I am going to get a tial 50mm, don't wanna have any issues.
I would rather spend the extra money on a quality piece. Which spring do I want for 8-10psi intercooled?
