I just ordered a Gearwrench 32 piece ratcheting wrench set from sears to put in my new toolbox, lol. On sale 80 bucks, normally 160, NOW im done spending money.lol

Im almost out of my 2nd gallon of HDSF, i like the stuff, but id like to try something new, probably 4star or DG.

Maxisuds 2 is a freakin GREAT soap and its super cheap. HDSF is great too and goes a LONG way.

Ratcheting tools are meant for speed, not torque, if you are crankin on your ratchets pretty hard, they are bound to break eventually. Snug up your high torque applications with the closed end of a wrench and i bet your ratchets last alot longer.

Ive never used MrPink, but i think its a marketing ploy from CG. Good ole cheap MS2 if you are lookin for a cheap soap is my .02 lol
I am a mechanic FYI.. I have a wide variety of wrenches and ratchets... Just so were on the same page. Unless he was specifically talking about ratcheting then I did not see that

I thought you said you had some craftsman ratchets that kept breaking, thats all. I know you have alot of tools, all i was saying is that in reality, a ratchet isnt really supposed to be used for high torque applications so- in theory, any decent ratchet should last forever if used properly.

Ah I see. No just regular wrenches. I don't have any ratcheting craftsmen wrenches.

Youre breaking combination wrenches?
Sockets mostly. They strip before the bolts do. You gotta remember I use my tools daily and at a shop craftsman isn't gonna hold up. Of your doing a job like a few times a year buy craftsman. If your working on cars 24/7, buy snap on or Cornwell. It's no surprise craftsman isn't as nice as they used to be. The older wrenches I have are better than the newer ones I own. They feel sturdy where as the new ones feel light and flimsy. My brother was using then on his jeep when he was lifting it and they held up, but some also stripped out before the bolt.

Ive never heard of a socket stripping unless it wasnt the right size. Ive used some CHEAP Chinese crap to take LUGS off a wheel before and broke the ratchet into 2 pieces before the socket stripped, lol. But again, its probably wiser to break bolts using a regular wrench then use the ratchet/socket to quickly inscrew it.

I dont have any craftsman sockets, all mine are Kobalt and i used them on the Reg and they are as good as any tool ive used including Craftsman, Snap-on, Gearwrench. And lifetime warranty, lol.

My ratcheting wrench set should be here tomorrow, cant wait! I need some toolbox liners tho, not sure where to pick those up locally. Lowes or Sears probably.

Now you have. It's possible. I'm just telling you what I've seen.

Kobalt on the other hand. Makes awesome tools.

Terminal how do you like being a Mechanic? Just curious as I start a year and a half long program that will also get me into the Ford "FACT" program. One of the local CC schools here offers a very limited amount of spots for this program. Their facility is only about 2 years old. Very nice... basically the size of a super Walmart. Only 16 per semester... and I got into one of the spots :lol

The awesome thing is the VA is helping me pay for all the tools necessary that I will get to keep. Somewhere around $30k worth of tools mostly at no cost!

It's alright. Not my dream job but I get paid a decent amount. It has it's slow times and times that you can't catch a break. Just depends on the day/week/month. Some days I don't wanna go, others I can't wait.

I have both craftsman and kobalt. From my perspective they're just about the same quality and I use both brands for everything....
I don't actually own any kobalt. Just seen commercials.
