The Jimmy's wipers were totally shot so I made an emergency run to Wal-Mart last night. Picked up some rain x lattitude wipers, rain x washer fluid, and the rain x coating, old school style. Coated all of the glass last night and installed the wipers. What a difference, it really shows how important clean glass is for safety, especially when there's a foot of snow on the road...

Is there any OTC stuff that you guys recommend or trust? The clay bar kit I got was something simple straight from the auto zone shelf. Mother's or meguiars. Dont remember. Btw I went back. I really I was holding the polisher at about 90-120rpms on speed 5.5.... that may have been why smoke.

I like mother foaming tire cleaner.... but man it will get expensive..

no pictures but after not washing my Lancer for 2 months and lots of dirt roads and rain, I washed it, clay bar'd it and wax'd it with Pete's 53. Before I used JetSeal 109 last time I actually detailed the Lancer and well...It did great!

The microfiber wash mitts are fine. I like rain x a lot. It's just a good product. Hmmm I like mothers foaming wheel cleaner like X but it's too expensive for what it is when you can get a gallon of cg wheel cleaner that foams for like 20$.

Also I use my GG on six all the time, full power compounding, never smokes and it has a short in the wire...something may be up with the machine unfortunately. :(

Or just use plain ass soap. Hell, even dawn soap.

You use regular soap on tires? And for German dust normal soap only scratches the surface. Not everyone keeps up with their wheel cleaning like you do dude. I've always had to use strong apc, degreaser, or wheel cleaner on tires.

I clean my car weekly, or at least i did when it was driven daily. I drive it once a week at school, so i can get away with longer intervals.

My car has been washed once in the past like...3 months. :(

Picked up the white part of the Merry Waxmas kit from SON1C for a good price. TerminalPenis is going to detail my car for me and we're going to try it out. When it's not -4 degrees out.. lol.
