Looks awesome man!

Lol I would put some anti-seize on those bolts when you put it back together.
I have a huge bottle of anti-seize...This isnt my first rodeo as I did all the work on my mustang when I had it lol

Well having to change my brakes out for new rotors and pads. Easy enough job? Yea sure if you have never dealt with brembos LOL.

Steel Bolt + Aluminum Brake Caliper + torqued to 140 ftlbs = Threads coming out with the bolts...

Needless to say I am waiting for the repair kit to get here so I can fix my calipers...

I have taken this time to deep clean the rims and brakes since I have had to wait on parts...
Do what Vader mentioned, take it off.

I already got to take advantage of this when I ordered my AF Illusion. Thanks again.

That sucks but I'm also super jealous. I want some brembos just for the sake of saying I have them lol.
Oh dang, i didnt realize it was a decal...:screwy: idk why i didnt think it was, lol. Thats probably what ill end up doing then.

LOL, this is like your 30th rodeo, how many mustangs have you had Chris? Like 17?

Cleaning up the focus to post for sale, and the mustang today. Gonna to the exterior and engine bay on the focus, and exterior and interior of the 5.0.

Yea last count was 17 mustangs, sbc berlinetta camaro, third gen z28, third gen iroc-z, a formula, TA, sbf thunderchicken, and a few other odd and end play cars

Should i assume that my brembos are gonna suck like yours? lol

Im probably going to change the pads over to hawk before these run completely out, i just prefer a carbon ferro pad and the ones i have sqeak from time to time, which annoys me...its not really a big deal, but im OCD about my cars. Gonna switch the brake fluid to something a bit better as well, idk yet, motul or amsoil most likely. Im never gonna track my car, just prefer usin the good stuff!

(I do get crazy in the twisties tho...fersho)

I've generally been out of detailing my cars since the weather has been complete **** for the past few months. With Spring right around the corner though I just placed a small order.

Since my cars all seem to be very resistant to allowing swirls to be removed, I went ahead and dished out the dough for some Meguiar's M101 based on some recommendations I came across in another thread on here. That along with a medium grade claybar and some more Sonax wheel cleaner (that **** does not last long for as much as it costs).

I'll probably do a full detail on my '01 Golf TDI because it is absolutely smothered in swirls. That and I'll probably be selling it instantly afterwards because I'm thinking I want to try to pick up an SVT Focus as a DD instead of this lame dog of a Volkswagen.

Yes its the same calipers. But to change pads it takes 20 minutes tops as you use a punch to push retaining pins out. use needlenose to pull the pads out. Pushing pistons back using a lever. put new pads in and go. If they are squeaking just put some of the stop creek you can get for breaks at autozone.

Brake fluid is brake fluid IMHO

Oil the best is amsoil but I run mobil 1 due to price and availability.

The stock brembo pads are fine but I am running stoptech as I like them better then EBC or hawk. If you go hawk get the HPs+

M101 is a monster bro, works well with MF and Foam.

Im selling my focus lol, NOT an SVT. Its slow as hell but gets hella mileage all the way back to TX :lmao (03, hatchback, 5speed, basemodel.) I usually averaged about 30-31 mpg mixed. Probably 28 city, 33-34 highway.

With the Sonax, just barely spritz your wheels, and use a brush to move it around, thatll help it last alot longer. I wouldnt use it as a maintenance cleaner because of the price. Id pick up some CG sig series wheel cleaner, it dilutes 4:1 and cleans pretty well. My brembos dust pretty bad, i do the weekly clean with CG SS, then every 3 or 4 weeks use a purple turner type cleaner to be sure to remove all the Iron.

Im coating my wheels soon once that happens, im gonna be using a combination of about an ounce of SS wheel cleaner and 3oz of soap in a foam gun to clean my wheels with foam, should make cleaning easy and not effect the coating.

PS. Figured out my pad need problem. I need like 3 more blue pads and 3 more green....but Autoality is out of stock of the 5.5s....

How is a good time to get those 6.25s i wanted to try anyway- SOLD, lol. Ill have to pick up a factory flex BP, but having bigger pads is gonna make alot quicker work of the 2013 camry i have lined up for next week- not to mention my mustang.

How big are the section you all work when you use the polisher? I found myself trying to make large sections and wasnt getting as good results, had to keep stopping myself...lol

The amount of polish you use and the results you are trying to achieve play a role.

But i probably work an 18" square with a 5.5" pad with 2-3 pea sized drops of polish on a primed pad.

Ill probably work only slightly larger area with a 6.25 inch pad, the result will be similar but save time for 2 reasons. #1 The pad being larger means i will cover more area and work more the abrasives per each pass, and #2 with a Flex 3401 polisher, the pad's speed is directly related to its circumference because it is forced rotation, so essentially, i will gain a small amount of cutting power with a larger pad (one of the benefits of forced rotation, this concept also applies to rotaries). A flex3401 benefits alot more from a larger pad then say a GG or PC would because the pads movement is fixed. With a PC/GG, the larger pad area effects the amount of pressure and therefore energy that the pad can transfer to the paint; This also effects the amount of rotation of which happens per oscillation cycle which effects the polishers ability to cut. (Sounds complicated, it really isnt)

Technique is really a big role as well. Dont rush it, if you work a larger area, it WILL take more time is that simple. So you may be able to work a 24" square area (which is fairly standard) with a 5.5 inch pad and the same amount of polish, but the operator most likely will need to change the amount of pressure, number of passes or speed of passes to compensate. (2'x2' is pretty standard, but its hard to make a perfect square on every part of a car, so you sort of get a feel for the amount of area that is associated with the amount of polish/size pad you are using)

Just DO IT, clean it, inspect it, if you get he result you want- repeat.

Silverrider, what kind of polisher do you have?

Oh- another note. Temperature and climate play a role as well, if its hot as balls outside and the humidity is low, a smaller area will be more beneficial for working the polish without it becoming dry, if the temp is mild and humidity is high, a larger area will be easy to work.

Lots of factors, you sort of get the feel as you polish

I have a gg, and use a 5.5" pad, thanks for the info, I was working on speed 4. I think I am going to work on five next time, I was just feeling things out this first time. My truck was in rough shape and I got the results I wanted.

5.5"- IMO, is the better size for that machine, its the best combo of covering area and proper pressure.

Speed 4-4.5 is supposed to be where the GG makes the most torque. Instead of using higher speed, use a little more pressure and move across the paint MUCH slower than you were. Making less passes at a slower speed can sometimes yeilf better results. Hell i move slow with my flex even tho i really dont need to move as slow as i do. I just make 2-3 passes instead of 5 lol.

If you still need more cut, id check out MF cutting pads (if you havent already) and then maybe a more aggressive compound.

I tried posting this three times. Once it got deleted, then autoguide decided I'm not me so it deleted it. I had typed up products and stuff but I'm too frustrated and tired now to retype it all. If the pics don't work at first come back later and they might, that's what photobucket support told me at least.
And all but one of the pics are completely wrong. I truly give up. I don't think I'll ever post pics here again. It just doesn't ****ing work. Whatever, look at the gt500 I guess. Piece of **** app.
