I almost didn't pay to get the spoiler holes done because I was so blown away by the price, but I just nutted up and did it because I knew I would regret it if I didn't. Hopefully they just estimated high and they bring it down a bit. That would be really nice, but I'm not expecting much. I really just want the car back tomorrow or Thursday, seeing as how they said it would be done today or yesterday. But theres nothing I can do, as long as they do a good job, thats all I really car about. The trunk better look like glass, not an ocean.
 
I think the faux cap is one of those items iconic with the 1st gen mustangs. I just think it looks incomplete without it. That is one of my big complaints about the S550.

I agree. It's not a bad look by any means. I just think it looks so slick without it, but I like my cars really understated. One of the things I like so much about the Corvette is that it doesn't need badging. I love that the C6s have the name Corvette stamped in the bumper and from there it's just the little flag icon. I don't think the Mustang body needs anything for people to know it's a Mustang.

The body is so unique that it just doesn't command that kind of ornamentation. Hell, if I didn't have the 45th Anniversary I'd shave the side emblems, antenna, 3rd brake light, spoiler, and faux gas cap. I'll definitely be shaving the whole trunk at some point, but the others will likely stay. Hell, I'd love to get rid of the actual fuel door and run the fill neck into the door sill, but I have no interest in turning this into a show car, and I've only seen that done once before on a Corvette forum. Totally slick. It really let the body lines speak for themselves.

I'd cut out that whole section and replace it with a super dark sheet of plexiglass so that it looks like one solid sheet of black painted sheet metal, but LED lights mounted behind it show when lights are on or you're on the brakes. Otherwise it would look like it has no brake lights.
 
That would be legit. Like I mentioned to you before I ml wanted to do the 3rd brake light but with the people here and how they drive I need something back there all I see us cell phones out when driving it's bad especially when I just about stop to go over RxR

I get it. When the time comes for me I'll be adding the CDC 3rd brake light that mounts inside the car near the top of the glass.
 
Finally got it back from the body shop! They did AMAZING work. The decklid is smooth as can be, no waves at all. They gave me a screaming deal and I'm just blown away by how good the car looks. Not too bad for 112K miles









Now, I'm off to install my relocation brackets.

Thanks, gents. I'll add it to my "If I win the lottery," build list along with the Shelby wide body kit and NFS Forgiato wheels. I would love to spend $100k+ building a SEMA quality show car and then just drive the ever loving **** out of it on a daily basis, track included.
