I have 05 GT convertible 5 speed. I want and will eventually put an intercooled Whipple on this car. At the moment I am a few dollars. I think I want a MILD cam, nothing extreme. My 05 has the normal add ons. Kooks LTH, CAI, Tune, Steeda UDP, etc. Questions; What mild cam can I put on or better yet will work best with the Whipple when I can afford it? Will I be making a mistake by putting the cam on before the Whipple? I just don't have the knowledge at this time to know what is best. How much HP can you get from a cam?

If you are going to put a blower in the car I would buy mods to support that blower. Such as suspension or other small supporting mods.

And if you want a mild cam, I would get some Comp NSR's with a blower grind. Which should get you another 20-25rwhp in parts of your power band.

i would also say if you don't have any suspension yet go with that first. lca's, uca, wheels/tires.

if you aren't wanting a radical cam nor do you care about the sound of a cammed car your stock cams will be more than sufficient for a sc'er. plenty of people are going pretty fast with the stock cams and a sc'er

Yep, build from the ground up.

But to answer your question, I will be ordering a Whipple soon and I put my cams in a little while back. I went with the mild Comp NSR II's. I went with the N/A grind because I wasn't sure how long it would be before I went with some boost. If I had a definite, and relatively short time frame for the blower purchase, I would have gone with the blower grind. The only difference in the two really is that the exhaust duration is a bit longer. Anyways my reasoning is that IMO the N/A grind with the blower will work fine, and be better than the blower grind without the S/C; for the indefinite time frame that my build schedule has.

Suspension

I have Eibach Sport suspension already installed and I love it. I am probably looking at 12 months before I have the money for the Whipple, but I was thinking of going with MILD cams and wasn't sure which should come first and which cam is the best for what I am looking for. I'm looking for HP increase and also a good sound. Please keep the suggestions coming. I should have mentioned I already have installed 18" Deep Dish Bullit wheels. Really there's not anything left except the blower and cams.

I'm not sure what your suspension package consisted of but dont think that there is nothing left except the blower and cams. I have a Roush that came with a pretty good suspension package and Ive replaced over half of it with better parts and still have more to do. I will probably have about 5k in suspension alone when I'm done.

Sorry no info on the cams except you probably want to ask whomever is going to tune for them. It seems tuning for cams can be hit or miss so your better off using the ones that your tuner is more familiar with.

i know someone has to remember which cam that is made for the sound that is also compatable with a sc'er. sorry i just don't recall which it is right now.

you might want to call both comp cams and blow by racing to see what they would suggest since you want it to have a nice loapy sound and be compatable with a sc'er
