Hey everyone, i have a 1997 gt with what i think is the factory alarm. So, heres my issue, up until the last month or so everything worked fine and the key fob would lock and unlock the doors and make the chirp saying the alarm has been disarmed. But the last few weeks i have had to press the unlock button numerous times to get it to chirp and disarm so i can start my car. I have both key fobs and changed the batteries in both just to make sure. I recently just started hitting the little valet button on the drivers side kick so i can start it without wearing down the remote. Anyone ever heard of this? I am concerned cause the last thing i want is to be stuck somewhere cause i cant start my car. Any help is greatly appreciated in advance!

Sounds like you might have an aftermarket alarm system. i would see if you can make it back to stock if possible. im sure it is the sole issue.

^Agreed, there's no valet button from Ford. If you disconnect it you kinda need to know what you're doing, they usually splice in to give a starter kill if the alarm is pulled. I'm sure Best Buy or any car audio place can remove it for you for cheap.
