this is my dream setup i think it would be pretty powerful. 331 stroker dish top pistons bored .60 over, gt40 heads, gt40 lower intake, kb supercharger @18 psi, b303 cam, flowtech longtube headers 2 1/2 inch straight pipe into flowmaster 40s, tko tranny , 4.10s in and a posi rear, full lakewood suspension, rear seat delete, and some slicks, and a boss block. sounds sick to me but im not sure how much hp it might, make just wanted to post for input pretty much.

If this is your dream set up you need to dream bigger. 18 psi a little high. And your only looking to run gt40 heads and a b303 cam ? theres much better out there then that. Im not sure a KB supercharger can even run 18 psi

A naturally aspirated pump gas 408 will walk all over your race gas 331 ( how are you going to run 18 psi of boost with a roots blower on pump gas ). No offense but you need to do a little more research.

My dream build would be to convert my 408 to efi and add a turbo with a nice bullet proof overdrive trans .

haha so does this dream have any real cash behind it, cause we can sit here all day and build e-engines, that will be monsters, but kind of a waste of time if there is no cash behind it no?

Nothing wrong with cheap heads and a lot of boost. You can save some money and still get lots of power. Why spend 2K on heads and run lower boost for the same end resulting power? Problem is, can you safely run a KB at 18 psi without some method of reliable intercooling and where in the compressor map chart will a KB be operating at that PSI with those heads and flow? I'm not familiar with them. Is that much boost going to be too much power for the block to handle?

The cost of the motor is not the end of it... There is so many supporting parts and pieces that you would need. Fuel, suspension, cage, etc. I'm not for building internet motors for people so they brag to people what they're 'gonna have some day' and that some day never comes. Like flattus said, too many people ask questions for fantasy builds, and it's just a waste of our time to answer questions for them... even though we're not doing much else at the time. Don't get mad at this reply, but it's the truth. Start showing some green, and some receipts and/or pics of parts and then people will be more likely to help. Sorry bud.

I dont even think your set up is that bad of an idea other then running 18 psi. But your title said dream set up. thats the only reason i was nocking your head choice. If i got a cheap ass pair of GT40 heads id put them on my car. also it seems that if all that money was going to be spent on a supercharger, 331 stroker, and 1700 dollar boss block at that point why not get better flowing heads and a better cam. thats all im saying.

I have 7400 in my motor, this is a real world figure and everything was purchased new with the exception of the labor to assemble it ( I traded a 351 block that I'd gotten in a trade somehow ). Sure there are internet heros bragging about how they've got 1990 bucks in their turbocharged stroker but whatever. My point is that you posted earlier about running 18 psi thru an aftermarket 302 block with gt 40 heads. My point is that this isn't going to be a very efficient way to make power , altho you'll have a lot of money in parts. I'd take a second look at your build and make some changes to it. BTW my car runs on pump gas and runs 10s ( well 9s with some spray ) . It doesn't pass emissions and gets terrible gas mileage but it makes great power for what it is.
3200 short block with balancer
1100 ported canfields
920 comp solid roller
250 roller rockers
300 oil pan
300 intake
550 carb
500 for mis ( cometic headgaskets, studs, gaskets etc. )
