Fox Rides Too Rough

Although it shouldnt be my daily for too much longer, I am getting tired of getting the piss beat out of me while driving my car. I feel every little hole, crack, and bump in the road. Although I know these cars are not supposed to ride well, I know that it shouldnt be this bad. So before I go out and replace a bunch of things, I was wondering if you guys could help me decide on what to get or diagnose my problem...

My first thought was shocks/struts. How can I check those to make sure they are ok? If these are bad what type of shock/strut package would give me the best/softest ride?

Any other things I should check out, and if so how do I go about checking them?

Thanks for your help:cool:!

yeah shocks struts and a bushing kit. i found most of mine to be very oval no longer round. and im pretty sure my car has the original 20 yr old shocks on it. its a terrible ride. i feel your pain.

there is a kit from summit with springs, shocks/struts(10 way adjustable), caster camber plates, and some bushings/hardware for about 650$ i believe.

yeah thats a pretty nice kit...but i think that lowers it doesnt it? if so and you dont like the ride now you definately dont want to lower it

Hey now its only 15! Like I meant in the original post, I am not expecting the damn thing to ride like a cadillac or anything. I was just seeing if these(KYB GR-2) were decent shocks/struts for my application because mine need replaced!

That's the one advantage building a new car. EVERYTHING'S NEW! Older cars, just replace evrything. I don't know how many times people ask me stuff about my mods and upgrades. Any time I work on the car, I do more than one thing at a time. For instance, when I did the new tranny, I also got new motor mounts, new tranny mount, new crossmember, new tri-ax shifter, new MM stru brace, and new McLeod 800 series clutch. The car was down for a couple days, but if it was a new car, the only thing that it would need is a stiffer clutch and a shifter...

Although my car still makes me feel sick at times (I have my shocks adjusted for close to maximum stiffness). I have 8 way adjustable shocks and it is lowered and 1 - 1/2" all around and I have MM caster camber plates and honestly I could take some of the stiffness out and make it feel like an luxury car (If I replaced the two front seats of course they aren't old or anything but I feel like I sink into them all the time)

Well thanks for the help. I have already ordered upper/lower torque box reinforcements and MM XL subframe connectors. I guess ill try the KYB GR-2 shocks/struts and some new control arm bushings. I guess its a start:cool:.
